Came here on a weeknight during a trip to Tahoe. We were seated immediately in a cozy area in the back, and our server was very kind and attentive. We started with sashimi and lobster tempura. The sashimi tasted fresh, and the tempura was perfectly crispy. We split the Thai seafood soup as our main. This was super flavorful and not too salty. We really enjoyed the service and ambiance here too!

Wow- Happened to come in randomly tonight and sat at the bar. What a nice treat!!! Tara was fantastic!! She offered the nightly specials, gave the BEST service and great laughs. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. We will be back very soon!

I absolutely love this place for a elegant meal next to Lake Tahoe. The chef’s touches on all of the dishes show a care for high quality and innovative cuisine. When he has the steak on the menu that is my „Goto“, but everything on the menu has been tasty. I think i have sampled almost everything on the menu and I have not been disappointed.Dietary restrictions: Douglas seems to make every effort to accommodate dietary restrictions and the staff is happy to recommend items that will conform to special dietary needs as they appear.

This is a Tahoe City gem! There is a lot of seating so a large group can be accommodated but could also be a nice date spot for two (although it does get a bit loud with all the different conversations in the open room). They accept walk-ins but I would suggest making a reservation. If you have the chance to try the baked oysters when they're on special, do it! They make a great appetizer and everyone at my table loved them. The three of us also split the Tomahawk steak. It was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor. Along with the other appetizers ordered, it was a filling amount for us. Then one special thing I want to note: we were there for a friend's birthday. We hadn't mentioned anything about it on the reservation or to the waiter. However, he overheard us talking about it and without any prompting he came out with a special birthday dessert. I thought that was going over and above and I really appreciated it.

Wolfdale's is simply amazing. One can always count on a terrific meal, and in a delightful mountain setting, looking out over a jewel of a natural wonder lake. 40+ years and counting. Don't miss out on enjoying Wolfdale's.

A lovely restaurant BUT... my wife had Thai seafood stew which was a bit too flavorful with too little seafood (that you couldn't taste). I had surf and turf. The filet was delicious but tiny and the lobster was incredibly salty (I shouldn't have eaten it but was craving lobster - a Boston boy can't help it). They reduced the charge some for that meal so service recovery was ok. Yet for 24 hrs my hands were swollen from the salt! And, they apparently just refinished their chairs. My wife had a nail in hers right in the middle of the chair. Finally, with all that said, the service was great but the prices were high by any standards, probably even if we had had a perfect dining experience. Fyi, the online menu and prices are apparently outdated/wrong.

I feel terribly writing this. I've been going to Wolfdale's since they opened. I'm not sure what's going on. I know it's tough to find staff. The food was lacking in flavor again. I really hope things get better. I want to keep being a fan, but the last few times I have gone things just aren't what they used to be.

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon. Our server, Avri, was great and very knowledgeable on the food and drink menus. Wolfdale's fits the Lake Tahoe area perfectly and is filled with artwork and cabin feels. Food was cooked very well, great flavors. We would suggest trying the Ahi Cones as a teaser and the Pan Seared Sole (the Sole was so buttery and flakey, perfectly cooked!) Thank you Wolfdale's staff!

This was a good experience. Our food was generally good but not great. The lamb shank was not seared on all sides before braising, so there was quite a bit of unrendered fat. The flavor was good, but it was also unseasoned. we had two orders of the surf and turf. One was cooked well. The meat was medium-rare, and the lobster was well-prepared. My son ordered one of those dishes, but the waiter told the kitchen the dish was for a little kid. They butterflied the filet, which led to an overcooked filet and a much smaller portion. My son is 5'8 and 175 lbs, and he ordered a medium-rare steak. He was left hungry and disappointed in his dish. I was incredibly disappointed in the waiter's misstep as he ordered the most expensive dish ($80) on the menu by quite a bit! The pot de creme was good but was not as rich as most I have had. I cannot be sure that I would return given the inappropriate choices of our waitstaff and their resulting consequences to our experience.

The food is Asia rim influenced and creative. The cocktail menu was very innovative. We enjoyed all our different courses. Our server was good but to overly attentive. However, we were served promptly ad ate everything!

What a fabulous experience! The Ahi Poke Cones were a wonderful starter! The Seafood Chowder was also great?I ordered the Beef Medallions with Elk Sausage. As I tried the sausage, I was already pleased with my choice, then once I tried the beef, it was unquestionably the ideal choice for me. My wife had the Sole and she was also pleased.

Everything about our experience was delightful! The Samish Bay oysters from Washington were a treat. Our entrees were delish and beautifully presented. Our server was engaging. Definitely highly recommend!

Surf and turf was perfect. Great chowder, good dumplings. Ambiance is airy with plenty of space between fellow dinners. Amenities are clean and taken care of. Portions leave room for desert and if the service was faster I would have tried that along with a port. We got bored looking at the sweets menu and then impatient. Thankfully we did not have to wait for the check.
