They offer a decent amount of flavors but I wish you could swirl different ones. They have set swirls and I feel like it's very limited. They didn't have unique flavors, very basic. But for the price it was a good amount of ice cream. I would come back just to try the pies since I only had the soft serve.

It's freezer dessert basically and it tastes like of course since it's at an odd place which is tricky to get but only because the place does other food stuff making you think you might be lost so obviously no ambience but at least the service is good. The dessert itself feels like I left in the freezer for a bit too long

When I think of the concept of the Thing Being Greater Than The Sum Of Its Parts, I think of a classic slice from Magpie's. An instant family staple from the moment we tried it, years ago. You want a perfect LA afternoon? Check out the guitar shop next door and then jump straight into Little Treat Culture and get yourself a slice.

Delicious, great service and so many dairy free options! Easy to order online or in store.

Tried this for the first time on a rainy day. Ordered the corn and matcha soft flavors which were tasty, my favorite was the matcha flavor! Recommend and will visit again!

While I still enjoy the frozen treats, I do not agree with the methods they are employing during these "extraordinary" times. The service has changed drastically and it is no longer enjoyable to visit. Samples are no longer available. Why? To protect whom? Well, they have regained their senses. They offer tastes again. How civilized. The make delicious desserts but use WAY TOO MUCH whipped cream. A pie is more than 50% whipped cream. And, when I wanted to special order with out it, they wouldn't do it. How disappointing. So much for customer service. I will say that I like the art on the wall with the neon soft swirls. Despite all this, I wish they had more locations. And, offered more of a variety. They have gluten free options, what about GRAIN free options. No oats, please.

Super loyal to magpies. I remember reading about it right before it opened in 2016 in La mag, I think? Anyway, I was always visiting silver lake and now go to tarzana in the valley. I've never had a complaint in my zillions of times going. The last two times I've ordered, the soft serve is basically impossible to eat. I always order the hard shell (bc it's amazing) and typically, that goes directly on the soft serve with toppings on top. Unfortunately, the last two times the toppings have gone on top of the soft serve with the hard shell on last. This causes the entire thing to become a hard ball of topping and shell and you can't actually break through the toppings and shell to get to the soft serve itself. I called to just politely let the team know in tarzana that it was basically inedible and that I've never had an issue before (I realize that dictating the order of topics sounds somewhat crazy...). The guy on the other end was pretending to be kind of nice but essentially said my thought/opinion didn't matter and that's how they make it (even though in my potentially hundreds of times getting this it's only happened the last two times). I let him know I didn't want to argue but just wanted to give feedback but it will go unheard. My guess is that he is the one who makes the product in the inefficient way and so he was defending it. Totally fine but I will probably not order as frequently if I can't guarantee it's actually edible.

Yummy soft serve! This NYer was craving Carvel- no such animal out here but I was taken here and pleased with the substitution! I got a dairy cream and malted milk chocolate cup with Oreo crunchies (no chocolate sprinkles there- what??) they offered lots of nice toppings and interesting creative flavors. I definitely recommend if you are over froyo and would like some soft serve after dinner! Staff were friendly and place was super clean and tidy!

I first tried Magpies cakes at an event they were at and after that, I knew I had to head to their brick-and-mortar stores for more. The location is pretty small and there's limited seating outside, along with some parking in the strip mall. With my group, we tried the baklava cake and the strawberry/banana cake. They were so good! I know the spot also serves delicious soft serve, but I have a soft spot for the cakes. So good!

Very creamy soft serve although a little too sweet for my liking although that could have just been the flavor I got (corn almond). Would go back to try the other flavors.

I stopped here as I always like finding places that serve dairy free ice cream. The ice cream was ok. I loved the honey comb toppings, though

Excellent soft serve. Sometimes I crave the malt chocolate with cookie crumbles for dinner. Definitely worth the drive from wherever you are.
