Beware of mean girl energy. I went in to place a to go order, off rip I recieved a not so warm welcoming from a woman cashier. From there a man co worker took over for her. He kindly took my order with no problems. I asked him if there was a restroom, to which he replied yes. The woman cashier then ran to the bathroom, making sure to slam the door so we knew she just went in there. I waited 5 minutes and she hadn't come out, although she heard me ask to use the restroom. I knocked on the bathroom to which I got met with a very rude "AYEEE". I waited 5 more minutes and notified the other workers. One went back there to which she told him "she was changing" so she couldn't come out. 15 minutes went past, they finished my order and she never came out! What type of customer service is that? It wasn't customer service, it was mean girl energy. She knew I needed to use the bathroom and she sat in there for 15 minutes, on the clock to make sure I couldn't use it. This made me experience very uncomfortable and I will not be returning. Maybe consider hiring woman who don't let their insecurities affect their customer service.

I don't know which employees were working tonight, but they exhibited really bad customer service. We ordered two sandwiches for takeout. We soon discovered they completely forgot a sandwich although they did charge us for it. When we returned for the missing sandwich they acted as if the mistake was somehow our fault. Don't think I'll be returning to this place. Too bad because the food is good but the customer service sucks.

I used to really love The Carving Board. We used to order so often, they knew us by name. The last few years they have changed up the menu and we stopped coming as often but would still order when we were craving it. We just ordered for the first time in a while and I am extremely disappointed. I ordered the Roughage, it is a vegetarian sandwich for not much less than a filet mignon sandwich. I am fine paying for a quality sandwich. But what I got was mostly lettuce and cheese, with very little mushroom. It used to come with a nice serving of portobello mushroom. I called to ask about it, thinking it was a mistake. The person answering the phone was rude and scoffed and asked "so you're complaining about the amount of mushrooms?" Then said they'd grab a manager but instead hung up on me. As someone who has worked in the food service industry for many years, I am shocked and hope they improve their service and menu items for future customers. I will not be one of them anymore.

My boyfriend was telling me how good this place was and we got here 25 minutes before closing, as we were looking at the menu, this male worker told us in a Rude way as he clapped his hands once “alright guys we are closed in 10 minutes” I looked at my boyfriend and told him that was rude, he said “yes let’s go” the female worker at the counter was actually nice and told us, “we actually close at 5” she was nice but the bad actitud of the guy already ruined it for us. I feel so bad because my boyfriend really likes this restaurant and that was a bad experience for both of us.

I was bringing my girlfriend here hyping it up so much for her because I haven't been here in so long since I moved from the area. I unknowingly got here 25 min before closing and while looking at the menu board a pushy tall guy bald guy rudely told us in an almost argumentative manner, "just so you guys know we're closing in 10 min" obviously showing an unappreciative gesture while making a hand clap. After he walked outside the girl up front said actually we close at 5, which looking at my watch I figured since it was 4:37. That guy just ruined it for me and I walked out. My girlfriend felt bad because I been literally hyping it up all day. Such a shame to have such terrible unwelcoming service from a grumpy bitter middle aged man . I literally was a walking advertisement for this place when suggesting food for people. I'll find a different sandwich spot.

I went here last night with a friend. I started with minimal expectations as it had a standard sterile sandwich shop ambiance. It was clean though. We ordered at the counter and they delivered the finished sandwiches to our table. But the first bite of my sandwich (a Buenos Aires) told me this place is very good! Steak, grilled mushrooms, peppers, cheese and chimichurri sauce on a telera roll--absolutely delicious! It came with freshly prepared potato chips that were also very good. My friend ordered a Health Nut sandwich with a side order of French fries. She was very happy with it, but then she has been getting sandwiches delivered from The Carving Board for a long time. This is a great sandwich place! My one suggestion? Get better signage so that the drivers on busy Ventura Boulevard can see that you are there!

I'm really disappointed because I really love their food, but i have to say they need more polite employees!I've been at this location many times before, but it seems that their customer service doesn't seem to change for the better throughout the years.I usually order from here directly from my Door Dash, so i personally don't deal with their bad customer service ordering online anymore.But, my boyfriend went on one of my cravings to order their BOMB Bentley with their mouth watering cashew coleslaw?Anyways, when my when my boyfriend finished ordering, they told him that they only accepted a card, NO CASH, and if he didn't see the signs, rudely.I know my punjabi❣️ HE IS KIND & GENEROUS AND TOLORATES MORE THAN HE SHOULD.The guy at the register made it clear that he would not make the food until my boyfriend paid for it, which is understandable. So my boyfriend told him that he would go to the Chase nearby, and if they could kindly start our meals to kill time having to go to the atm (after a long day of work) and he left $40 to cover our order until he got back from deposting money at the chase atm near by being that they don't accept cash, and card only.When my boyfriend got back to Carvingboard, they hadn't started our meals paid for in cash for the mealtime.So, my boyfriend had to wait extra time for our meals to be started, exhausted after work. To top it off, them KNOWING WE WERE ORDERING CASHEW COLESLAW, they told him he had to wait even longer for them to make more coleslaw. Smh!When my boyfriend arrived home. We finally wanted to grub on our mossion for a meal, I noticed that my Bentley didn't have much meat, and the coleslaw was NOT fresh, so i tossed it because it didnt seem right.I will not be ordering from this carving bored in person or with doordash anymore knowing how this business runs!I'm seeking a better managed carving board that is kind & considerate to ALL PEOPLE?

Great find!! Honestly the electric menu and ambience gave off fast food/cheesy casual energy but this place has craft food! Definitely a lot of care into the product and we loved both of our orders. Chips were fantastic. Would certainly stop in again for another bite!PS I apologize for the picture! We couldn’t wait to dive into our food!

Ordered a turkey sandwich and fries. Arrived to pick up my food and the fries were cold. The worker had the bag wide open, so why wouldn't the food be cold. I asked him to make some fresh hot fries and he did. He had a bad attitude. He handed me my fries with his bare hands on top of it with no gloves on. I confronted him and he didn't say anything. I threw away the fries. The customer service was very poor. I am pretty sure no one is pressuring you to work there Sir. Wasted my money on fries.

I really dig the sandwiches at this place. I like the breakfast sandwich a lot, it's a nice hearty way to start the day. The grilled cheese is good, as is the buffalo chicken grilled cheese. They make a dynamite turkey club as well. I've always thought they'd be good to cater a party or meeting. They have a little dining room if you don't take your food to go. A-plus for the counter staff who are always super friendly and efficient.
