Supposedly the best bbq in Temecula...but quite the opposite in my opinion. We love Phil's and had high expectations. We got the mini sampler and I was surprised at how dry and stale all the meat looked. Almost worse than next day microwaved meat. And the sides, the mashed potatoes and gravy tasted sour and tangy, like it had gone bad...The dirty rice was so dry and had way too many different flavors that overwhelmed my mouth. It was not pleasant and none of it tasted good. I don't know who the judge is to give this place BEST BBQ in inland empire, but it definitely is not. We ended up barely touching any of the sides and just leaving more than half the meat. DEFINITELY not worth the steep price and also there refillable "small" soda costs $4.00, and if your taking to-go...then that one tiny cup is all you get.
I came in and ordered food for my wife's birthday and got home to Wildomar to find out there were no rolls (no biggie) Now the biggie, the chicken was so raw that it still had blood coming out of it. My wife called and Adam answered and she asked to speak to a manager. With no manager she told adam about the rolls at which point he laughed at her, then she proceeded to tell him about the chicken and he replied that chicken is supposed to be pink when my wife replied to Excuse me, he hung up on her.
Yummy food - friendly staff.
The service was great! But....the food was cold, dry and no taste at all it sucked because we are from SD and took a trip to Palm Springs and we took the long way for this restaurant. Unfortunately our group of 16 only 6 kids liked it but come on they're kids they don't know. Anyway don't waist your $$$ for something that's not good. My opinion. Oh and BTW you can't take anything off and get it on the side and the portions are small for the $$$. Oh and BTW the food came out extremely fast seems like it was served with food waiting on deck. Hmmmmmmmmm.
Food is ok. A little expensive. Staff is really nice.
Beans were excellent so was the tritrip going back for theLasagna ?
Jojo was our wait staff. She was EXCELLENT!I had the BBQ lasagna which was good. Large serving so ended up taking it home. Added a dinner salad to go with it. Another member in the group had a 3 meat combo. It came with a side dish, roll and choice of meats. He ordered burnt ends, Cajun sausage and pork ribs. Ribs were perfect, burnt ends were dry as you would expect, sausage had excellent flavor. We also broke down and ordered desert. Chocolate torte, Excellent! Chocolate cake was the best I've had in a very long time. I just wish it had been bigger in size since it was so good. We will return again and you should try it if you have not been there. Thanks again Jojo for advising us in our choices. Job well done!
So far I've I arrived shortly was greeted by staff. Location clean and well kept. Intrigued to try many things on the menu. The restrooms are very well maintained and I can definitely appreciate that. I tried the famous BBQ lasagna and it was a different taste but good.
The Jalapeños, Tri Tip and Carrot Cake are amazing! Our waitress Jojo was super nice and quick. Was not a fan of the bread roll or corn, but overall it was a great dinner. Excited to hear they might be serving liquor soon.
We were really excited to try this place and wait 30 minutes for it to open. The restaurant does not make their own tea which is a classic for any BBQ joint I've eaten at. They could not substitute sweet potato fries on kids meals. The meat seems like it was re-heated not fresh. Pricey.
I’ve eaten at HoBo’s twice now and both times were exceptional. The Tri Tip and Sausage is my favorite. Absolutely delicious! I will continue to go here!
$12 for a brisket sandwich. No sides. Small bun and skimpy meat. $4 for a side. Wow!
Their food is very good, but the service is terrible. We have ordered food for delivery and it was delicious. We tried to eat there today but left after about 10 minutes without even a greet. The waitress came out 3-4 different times to take care of other customers, but didn't even look at us. There were only 4 other people there so its hard to chalk it up to being too busy to notice a couple people slipped in without her noticing.
Place was very clean, our server was amazing and food was great! The chicken wings were to die for. Pulled pork was tasty and the bbq sauces were so good that I ordered bottles to take home. I ordered the big sampler and loved it all. The chef came out twice to make sure we were happy with all the food and we couldn't sing his praises more. My only suggestion, would be to switch up the rolls, or heat them up...but even with that said, we ate every last roll on the plate lol very happy to have found a delicious bbq place with amazing staff. Adding this place to the rotation!
Great BBQ! Highly recommend! We’ll be back soon!
