It's Italian ice , of course it's good. The size is pretty good too, and the cherry flavor is absolutely delicious.

It's inside a gas station so you may miss it as I did. Lol I wanted something refreshing but not heavy so I ordered small mango gelati. It was so good and I know I'll be back. I'm glad to know there's one here in Cali. When I lived on the East coast I went all the time to Rita's. The cashier was very helpful and let me sample the mango before I decided that was the one I wanted.

Asiri was incredible! I called at 7:05 to make sure that they were closed and not serving Italian ice any more, and Asiri said he would still serve me in 40 minutes (my eta). So kind and very good conversation. My friend just got a major back surgery and I wanted to bring her Rita’s (her favorite treat), and I am so so grateful for the kindness of Asiri to help make it happen. I love the gelati with the tropical Italian ice!

Ignore the hours listed on the website because they're not accurate. For the last 3 times I've shown up here the place is closed down even though the website says they're open for another hour or two even. We showed up again tonight, a Friday night, at 7:00 and it was closed even though the website says they're open until 8:00. It drives me bonkers. I've even shown up during THE DAY, and nobody is working. At least update your hours to show accurate time so people don't waste their time showing up and the place is closed.

The Gelati's are soooo good! The actual Rita's location was a bit hard to find though, it's inside of the actual gas station, so kind of a weird spot. There's was also only one employee working the stand on a Saturday, so expect a bit of a wait. The shake was okay, but the soft serve kind of overpowered it, even though this specific shake was supposed to have more soft serve than Italian ice. If you're looking for more of the shaved ice, you better off just getting that on its own than mixing it up. The Italian ice on its own is perfect for a hot day though!

Rita's is the place to go for delicious, refreshing frozen treats! Tucked inside the Chevron gas station in Newbury Park, Rita's offers a variety of frozen treats including: Italian ice, frozen custard, milkshakes, sundaes, and these custard cookie sandwiches made with chocolate chip cookies. My mouth is watering just thinking about the frozen custard tho!The texture in their Italian ice is on point. The ice is hand-spun so the crystals are small and evenly distributed which gives it a nice, smooth feel. They have about 10 Italian Ice flavors to choose from, rotating daily so you're always in for a surprise. Check their IG / website for the official list if you don't like surprises. I love the Strawberry and Watermelon flavors, but the Cherry is also very good. Sometimes I get all 3 in a single cup -- Wee!Back to the Frozen Custard which is, without a doubt, my favorite thing at Rita's! It's made fresh daily and is thick and creamy, with a richer and more flavorful taste than froyo and ice cream. They offer both Vanilla and Chocolate flavors, as well as a Swirl option.MUST-TRY: My go-to order is the Gelati! Gelatis are the best of both worlds because they combine layers of the light and fluffy Italian Ice with layers of rich and creamy Frozen Custard. Strawberry Italian ice with Vanilla frozen custard is IT. Get it, you won't be disappointed. I usually get the small Gelati and it's more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth for the entire day!Highly recommend stopping at Rita's. The combination of quality ingredients and very reasonable prices is unbeatable.
