Ate here on a whim today and it was excellent. We had an Alamo Burrito and Tacos Birria. The Tacos Birria are one of the best things I've ever tasted. Definitely will be going back.

I crave the jalapeno lime carne asada plate - that's how good it is. The marinade is extremely flavorful, and the baked potatoes and grilled corn on the cob are delicious. (It's hands-down my favorite dish of any Mexican restaurant.) Overall, I really enjoy The Alamo. It's not fancy but very laid-back and comfortable, and the service is always great. I'll keep going back, and you should too!

My husband has been so loyal to this restaurant, but he finally agreed after our last visit that we were done. Food is average, prices have gone way up, you have to pay for extra chips, and the service is terrible. We've had a couple servers now that made us feel like they hated us just for showing up. Won't be going back.

I held a surprise birthday party for my husband at the Alamo two weeks ago. it was a great experience. We were a party of 16. Our primary server was Irene, but two other young men assisted her. She did everything to make sure our guests had what they needed for the perfect meal. I have been going to the Alamo for maybe 30 years, so I know what to expect. Prices for dining out have gone up a whole lot. If the Alamo has raised their prices, it isn't more than a dollar or two. I love their crispy tacos and chili rellenos. My husband likes most of the menu. I definitely recommend them. If you want to do a restaurant party they are so accommodating. Thanks Alamo, for a great experience.

Went yesterday 2/18 and the host was the host and the waitress. She was on her cell phone more than anything, so service is very slow, and getting bad. The food is always great, and chips and salsa is damn good. The churro was still frozen inside, and sour cream was just nasty looking and tasting.

The food is really good here. Chip and salsa is damn good. The service is really going down hill quick. Went yesterday, and the host and was the host and the waitress. She was on her cell phone and basically ignoring the customers. The Churro was frozen still inside, and the sour cream is just nasty.

Sometimes they ask you to pay for music….which is very odd. Without music the place is very quiet and sounds like you are at work….pretty lame. I think the bar should provide music and allow the customers to override if they want to pay. Maybe add some candles or lamps for some better

Decided to give Alamo one more try after a 20 year hiatus. Elizabeth server was friendly but no one to assist her. Unfortunately food was as bland as before. Elizabeth did not alert me that there was an upcharge for all verde sauce vs one green/one red. She did tell us there is a charge for additional chips but would give us a few more at n/c. Had small guac - that was good. Chile relleno, cheese enchillada, ground beef taco, rice beans all bland. Our of sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio ok. beer good.

They charge you 2 bucks for chips and salsa, even if you order food and or drinks! Ridiculous...im done with this place! Lol

We came to the bar area to try out the happy hour and ended up sitting for 15 minutes or so with no one acknowledging us so we left. If this is situation where you have to order at the bar then at least have a sign indicating this!

I was impressed by everything here. The ambiance was great. It was very welcoming and warm on such a cold afternoon. The service was truly great. Ozzie, the bartender, makes great margaritas. I ordered the seafood Burrito. It was not only huge, it was great. The chipotle mayo was a nice touch. I could only eat half and come home so full I slept for 2 hours, and ate the rest for dinner. If you're in the area, stop by. Just make sure you're hungry.

The Alamo will be my go to for Westlake Village and Newbury Park Mexican. Good Mexican food for a decent price.

Loved it here food was great and drinks! The server got irritated and kept asking us you need anything else when we were visiting with family like he wanted us to go... did not like that
