Walk-in, waited for a while before someone greeted me (but in fairness they had full tables). There weren't people waiting other than me.I didn't eat here. When I had checked in I was given a reasonable estimate of 15 mins and they fulfilled that. However as I was going to check in again, there was visible smoke over the ceiling and they had to open the doors because people were getting smoked.I canceled because my lungs started hurting before I even went in.I don't know about the food though.

Horrible. We usually go to Gyu-Kaku. But tonight they were booked so off to Manpuku for a new restaurant adventure with the kids we went. Beautiful setting and clean. But waitress could care less if this was our first time there because she didn't even ask . She was very distant. Ordered $300 worth of food and I'm not satisfied at all. Where is the rest of the food ?

Restaurant was very busy with not enough servers. We arrived on time but didn't get seated till 15minutes later. Food was good but we didn't get to have full attention from the servers. Food didnt come in an orderly manner. We ordered hot tea but weren't told there were complimentary barley tea and green tea/oolong would be $3 each. So we ordered three green tea. Son asked for a refill and the server just came straight and gave him a new cup without saying a word that it will be charged another $3. The second round we all asked for a refill of tea and this time the server said there was no free refill and only barley tea would be served conplimentary. We got trapped with this tea charges without knowing and you can't find it anywhere on their menu. We will be cautious and ask if there are any charges on tea next time.

This place is our got to for a nice quiet dinner away from the kids. Food is always great. Wait staff is fast and they are pleasant. I love that we can have a conversation and enjoy our meal. That Manpuku salad is amazing! The quality of the meat is great but the sides hold their own. We will be coming here for many years to come.

I don't want you to think that the food here is not good. It was fine. I just think that this is not a fine dining establishment, although it certainly attempts to put itself in that category by price. You should realize that wafer thin slices of meat spread out on a platter create a bountiful impression, but in terms of weight there is truly little there. Now as to what was there, the quality of the beef was excellent if somewhat lacking in flavor. The best thing I had were the tasty scallops. Be prepared to pay for what you get, albeit enjoyable.

“Mampuku” means “I'm full” in Japanese. This place hardly reaches to that point unless you pay $$$. For what I paid for the amount of food that we ordered, I could have gone to Eddie V's and had a really good Tomahawk Steak and more. The cost vs. portion that we get is ridiculous. I won't be coming back here.

Authentic Japanese BBQ. By far the best in California. The meats on offer are incredible. I visit every time I pass through from the UK.

Always the best Yakiniku !! Don't need to eat this cuisine when I hang out in the bowels of Tokyo because Manpuku here in Torrance sets such a high bar and standard. Amazing but when I'm drinking and bar hopping in Roppongi till the sun rises, Yakiniku doesn't come up. But back in the South Bay, I'm always craving and missing Manpuku. Might be because of all the nice Japanese gals like Hiromi providing outstanding and elegant service but don't tell that to my wife........Samurai6 signing out!!

The meat was pretty good! we ordered the tongue, skirt, pork belly, and galbi. We also had the beef stew, tartare, salad, and dessert. The food was good but I would say that the service is a bit fast because they ask about getting new dishes a bit too often so it felt a bit rushed.

Just spent 11 nights of binge drinking and dining courtesy of 24/7 Roppongi/Tokyo. No desire for Yakiniku over there because Manpuku, Torrance is the best there is!!! If you live in LA, thank the BBQ Gods for Manpuku and for them being open Christmas evening!! The quality of their meats are just as good or better than what you get in Japan plus all their side dishes are meticulously prepared and executed to perfection. Wash it all down with ice cold Asahi Dry on tap and life can't get any better plus throw in the truly wonderful, courteous service by Japanese servers Hiromi, Reina and L-Chan..........I just can't get enough of this joint!!

Our party of 4 each did the Prime Beef Tasting menu ($69 pp). In total, we got 18 slices of meat per person (3 slices of each meat). We got our starters family style--huge bowl of cabbage salad, bean sprouts, 3 kimchis (cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes). The 1st meat tray was the hangar stake & short rib, then a shrimp tray. Then they served our individual soups (tho the spicy beef soup wasn't too spicy, they allowed subbing for egg soup) and the family-style garlic fried rice in a hot stone pot which they mix for you so everyone gets the good crispy bits. The 3rd tray was ribeye, tri tip, and skirt steak. Also included was ice cream for dessert (we all got matcha). All of us were full to the gills after dinner! Even tho they were busy, the servers' timing was impeccable-they intuitively knew when to bring out the next course. This was a truly enjoyable quality meal event for all of us!Note: They're in a mini-mall w parking but the spaces are narrow and 5 spaces right in front are taken by white utility vans from a neighboring business. They do employ parking security to keep an eye on things but we had a jerk park 4" from our drivers side door.Parking: They're in a mini-mall w parking but spaces are narrow and 5 spaces right in front are taken by white utility vans from a neighboring business. There's an adjacent neighborhood with street parking and also a neighbor mini-mall with connected parking, so you could just walk over.

Very tasty food but don’t expect a good value. 6 small slices of Kobe filet costs $39. My family has sophisticated taste bud and can tell a difference but I am a peasant and feels it just tastes like well marinated beef.
