We came here for my mother's birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. To start with: they allow pets. Our dog is a senior pup who has extreme separation anxiety. We adore him so much, and we were so happy to experience the restaurants fantastic atmosphere with him. Talking about ambiance, it's very relaxing with slow music. If you sit inside, you'll get a bustling restaurant, however if you sit out doors you'll get the nice beach breeze to accompany you. As for the service: absolutely amazing. They were so quick to take our order and made us feel welcomed. On top of this, they were accommodating to my small request of having red sauce instead of green sauce. If you have children, they are more than welcome to accommodate to them too. The food came in a timely manner. It was hot and fresh, definitely made here at the restaurant. My enchiladas were deliciously creamy and hot. My sister's dish (carnitas with red rice) was also magnificent. However, my mom (which is the whole reason we came here) said that her enchiladas with green sauce was not up to par with her standards. Her family is from Mexico, so she insisted that the green sauce is not authentic. Despite this, she loved loved LOVED the nachos she ordered and rates a 4 star. But for my review I'm giving it a 5! Green sauce aside, everything else was superb. I will be coming again. Quick note: they host some very fun events here as well. You can check them out when you come. I 100% recommend coming here. If you love Mexican food and need a place to come with family or friends, give this place a chance.

Asked a South Bay local what was their favorite local restaurant and this one came up. Immediately came for lunch. Friendly greetings and booth of choice. Chips and salsa were unremarkable. Flavorless chips and ok salsa. Not bad. Just incredibly mediocre, which was a recurring theme for the meal. I had Riviera Burrito with carne asada and guac/sour cream/cheese add-on. Protein lacked flavor. Partner had enchiladas. Same thing. Lackluster protein. Truly unremarkable. Nothing wrong just majorly mediocre. The place is not going out of its way to impress anyone. But you'll get utilitarian food at a utilitarian price. A solid meal. Zero flair.

Best restaurant I've been to in a while!! The rice is great and a side is only 5.50 and it's an actual cup with good flavor. Definitely recommend!! If possible to give 10 stars I would!!

Mexican Rivera brings the tastiest Mexican Food. The specials are affordable and provides the customer numerous options to choose from!!! Today's special- chicken taco, cheese enchilada with rice and beans.. the cheese pull on the cheese enchilada was a 10 out of 10, the taco was amazing the right amount of chicken on the taco that was actually shredded and seasoned. The beans and rice were just right and paired well with the taco and enchilada!!!The presentation of food and the heat factor was a 10- I like hot food on the plate not lukewarm or hot spots in the food.. the atmosphere is lively and welcoming with the faint smells of Mexican food cooking... thanks Diana, Ryder and Roman for your excellent customer service!!! This family business puts the FAM in family they make you feel right at home!!

The Mexican Riviera: Mazatlán. Puerto Vallarta. Cabo San Lucas. You can slap down $700, book a flight and grab an authentic Mexican dish there. Or - you can get in your car and drive to Torrance and have the same thing. Wifey put me in charge of scouting a restaurant before braving the slammed-yet-festive Christmassy neighborhoods of Sleepy Hollow just to the west. So I hit my trusty Yelp app and made our discovery. It's a diamond in the rough! It has the feel of a family-owned op' and they do a great job, serving everyone with a smile. The ambiance is simple, unassuming. The food is REAL Mexican and it is happening. Nothing phoned in or hurried. And, yes, they serve alcohol. We have our favorite joints here in the Slauson/La Cienega area - gotta say, Mexican Riviera blew them all away. Cue the mariachis...we're headed to The Riviera, baby!

I'm back again to try their taco Tuesday specials. I picked 3 tacos for $7: Chicken taco - shredded chicken, good and simple. No special flavor really. The best part is the crunchy housemade taco and the fresh salsa, lettuce and cheese. This is true for all the tacos below too. Potato taco - the potato is just sliced potato pieces that look lightly sautéed, not deep fried like I was expecting. Despite that, it tasted good. Again, nothing special. Bean taco - This was fine too. Not bad, not great, no special flavor. All in all I'll still come back because the value was there. Nothing special but standard fare. Next time I may bring some extras of my own to add to these (guac from chipotle, ranch from cheesecake factory or The Habit etc).

Can't find a good Mexican restaurant in Torrance? Not to worry anymore! Came here for a taco Tuesday. Not disappointed at all food was great! Come with an empty stomach because the portions are big. Setting is small but comfortable. Servers are young but very attentive. Definitely coming back!!

Perfect place for a Taco Tuesday! I needed some comfort food and 4 carnitas tacos, sides of rice and beans, and some meatball soup! Oh, add a Pacifico and football on the tube, and for a while you are in Mexican Riviera Bliss. Staff is cool and polite!
