I was just here now at 1:30 pm 01/27/24 I went to self check out line ask for help the lady didn't know anything. she didn't even try to help me out. This is why I do not like self check out you cannot even get help. The lady did not care about her job. You could tell she was too busy playing with papers I highly recommend getting better help Safeway. This is getting bad and embarrassing for you guys.

I didn't have time to take my time to write this in to post this last month due to my workplace had me working a lot more hours so now I finally have the chance to write this review and to share with all of you about what went wrong. I ordered a Christmas cake for Christmas dinner, my family and I were looking forward to eat the cake, but after slicing the second layer, that's when I notice something was sticking out. It's a PIECE OF HAIR! I took some pictures and videos to show proof that this long, strand, thick hair that I pulled out halfway, was coming out from THE OUTSIDE LAYER OF THE CAKE! Where the frosting is at! And that's not the worst part! After observing the whole cake to see if there were anything else, sure enough, 10 minutes later, I FOUND ANOTHER SECOND LAYER OF LONG HAIR I PULLED OUT HALFWAY! Disgusting! I took the cake back the very next day and told a manager there about what I have found and they gave me a refund, apologized, and said they will have the manager from the bakery have a look at it when they can. They have me select another Christmas cake for free after giving me a refund. C'mon Safeway! Step up your gear! You "use to be" a good place to shop! I'm beyond disappointed on this!

If you want to have a good day do not come here early in the morning like I did. I waited 15 mins for someone to ring me up and the guy was really rude.

Great store with a get customer service, RAEANN was very sweet and Actually took her time when I needed help when other stores didn't even bother like I was bothering them with asking for help. My new go-to store

Within 2 years I've encountered actions from employees that make me feel as if I'm a bad person. One lady asking me for proof that I paid for my bagged groceries while I had my two young daughters with me after I just asked her a question, today another worker standing right behind me as I check out at self checkout & leaving the area as I leave the store. It's not an enjoyable place to shop anymore I'd rather go to food maxx they're so nice there

Way overpriced, takes advantage of being one of the few grocery stores in Tracy. Only go there if you really need something. Otherwise better to go get items from Wal Mart or Costco

I got a sandwich at Safeway and the lady Sarah was sooooook SLOW like literally Snail pace I couldn't believe how long it took her to make a sandwich crazy

Terrible. Waited for someone to assist me to make a sandwich. Only one lady acknowledged me. The other lady was cleaning and didn't say one word. Then when someone finally did come to the sandwich area she stated she had to help someone else first because she was standing in the wrong area. I waited for about 20 minutes. That's ridiculous! Safeway needs to hire more people in the deli area. I just left without buying anything. Smh.

I've been coming here almost every week for the 6 years I've lived in Tracy. They usually have decent customer service. I always get tri tip when it's on sale and have the butcher cut it into 2 in steaks. They take care of me every time. Today there is apparently a new policy that doesn't allow the butcher to cut sale items. This is very disappointing. Take care of your customers please!

Giving 3 stars because the cake was delicious. I didn't give 5 stars because of how the cake design actually came out. I asked for green and they gave me a light colored green that basically blended into the white border which was hard to read the words on it. As soon as they showed me the cake, I was disappointed because it was for my baby shower that was starting within an hour so we didn't have much time. The lady then asked "ok so what do you want me to do" as if I already didn't ask her to darken the color frosting. She looked at me with such attitude and took it back. They ended up coloring over the words which helped a little but still, payed $80 for a cake and it was not what I asked them to do. I attached the picture I showed them for reference and then the cake I actually got. Like I said, if I payed $80, the least they could do is actually make it look like what I wanted!! Advice: Make sure you give them a paper copy of what you want so they can keep it on file for reference instead on showing them a screenshot from your phone.

Customer service is a rare thing anymore. So when I get THREE ppl going above and beyond in the same day I have to give them credit. First, lupita in the bakery!! I was so upset because I wasn't able to order a cake for a friend at work the day before and I was desperate for help. Not only did she take the time to come and help me find an amazing substitute for the cake I needed she took time out of making all of the Mother's Day cakes and graduation cakes to write on the cake for me! She absolutely made my day better and made my friends day! I truly appreciate her going above and beyond. I'm to the meat department and Jason! My dog is obsessed with Barkley bags. If you haven't tried them run to the store. I had looked the day before, tried to do an online order and had checked another store and they were all out. I explained to Jason and he took time out of his busy day to go in the back and find me not one but three bags!!!! he could have easily said if it's not on the shelf we are out. But he didn't. I am TRULY grateful and hope that he knows how much I appreciated his act of kindness. David was my final happy moment in this store! He's been at Safeway for as long as I can remember and he always goes out of his way to be friendly and personable. In a time when things are just upside down a lot I want to say a huge thanks to all three of the great employees that went above and beyond today! thank you!

This store is great I shop here all the time ! I mean all the time ! Since 2013 really love how clean and nice it is employees are great and I always get what I need EXCEPT !! here is where I'm going to rant ! Bakery what is going on with this bakery it was never like this until a month ago out of no where I can never find an available cake for purchase or they don't have any cake related items always empty. I speak to workers here and one of them said it's because the district manager and manager decided to move employees to another store !!!! Hope this is not true because this bakery was great. I tried calling the store to speak to the manager but they did not pick up the phone. I will be going in again tomorrow and speaking to them directly. A few of my friends have said the sameThing about this bakery.

01/30/2023 I had the worst experience at this location. I spoke to the bakery to order my niece wedding cake for end of April 2023. No one in the bakery knew about any cake pricing. No one knew where the cake photo-book was. I asked for a manager by the so called name Eduardo. Who had no clue and had no experience in service levels. Clearly no checks and balances. I asked who could take the order and he stated he had no one to take the order. Safeway clearly should know pretty story horrible customer service. Sad to have a store which has no clue on product they are selling. PLEASE DO NOT ADVERTISE WHAT YOU KNOW YOU CANT SALE!!
