On Friday April 12, 2024 my wife and I along with a friend stopped in Tracy to get something to eat. WE checked the local places to eat before we got into Tracy and settled for the Black Bear Diner. When we walked in we thought we hit it at the right time of day, they were not busy at. We were taken to our seats and the waiter took our drink order. When he returned we gave him our order. My wife and I decided on the Pattie Melt sandwich and our friend the Chicken Club. When our order arrived both my wife's and mine, the bread was burnt. I was able to eat half of mine, but my wife could only eat the onion rings she ordered. We asked for our check and I excused myself to wash my hands. Our friend went to the cashier to inquire if you offered either a seniors or veterans discount. He was asked about an id showing was a veteran. While standing near the cashier and being treated like wasn't even there by my waiter, the man taking and the Manager asked which of them wanted to see my ID. I got no response from anyone. The woman manager rushed by me hitting my ID I held in my hand almost knocking it from my hand. My friend finally was able to pay and he made a comment saying that was a waste of time, I asked why and he told me my discount was for only $2.00. I'm sorry if your employees hold veterans in such low regard. I guess I should mention the service veterans gets from the Black Bear Diner to my friends all 330,000 plus of them across the country. I belong to an organization called The Patriot Guard Riders and Warrior Watch Riders.

I found it hilarious the menus are news papers lol... I'm 34 and and I never read the paper... So I KNOW these Tic Tok kids definitely not reading the newspaper ?, kids go to Black Bear for the Baby Boomer Generation ???‼️ Since COVID I've seen restaurants have no menu and just scan the QR Code, that would scare the Boomers away lol. 5 stars ? VINTAGE TOUCH isn't lost on me❣️?????.

My girlfriend and I have been to several Black Bear Diners.This has got to be one of the worst ran of them all.The service was not very professional and just barely acceptable for friendliness.The waitress acted more like it was a bother for us to be there even though they weren't very busy.The food quality most definitely was not up to the standards that we have grown to appreciate from the Black Bear diner brand.The whole experience felt like a hole in the wall cafe on some back street.Will not be going to this restaurant for a second chance.
I think blackmart has one of the best breakfast around the whole California area. Somebody you guys should try it and you'll love that set food air. It is so good and they give you a lot. They don't give you a little bit. So I would really highly recommend this one.
Plenty of parking space and only waited 10 min though it was PACKED.Food is good and came out pretty quick.

Great place, it has the enviroment of a country restaurant, I have been to other Black Bear Restaurants and this is the best. Not the chain food restaurant I was expectingFood was delicious, lots of great welcoming staff allways ready to help you
