It's so great to have this option on the mountain, and they deliver! We enjoyed the Malia Kofta, Dahl Makani, garlic Naan, rice, and papadums. The food was tasty and had a great spice level. We requested spicy.

The vegetable samosa was huge, and the lamb vindaloo was nice and spicy as ordered. The lamb vindaloo had great flavors, especially with the naan. I really enjoyed the meal, and recommend it for something low-key and savory.

Place is always empty, and no wonder: Prices are absolutely insane - higher even than in good SF places. They claim their food cost has gone up 50% in past couple of years, but anyone that's been to the Truckee Safeway knows that's not true. Such a shame.

I am no Indian food expert, but what a great option post snowboarding/skiing while you charge your car at electrify america. We had the samosa chaat, papri chaat for starters. Then, the lamb vindaloo, navratan korma, and chicken vindaloo as entrees with garlic naan in the side. All the entrees come with rice. Also drank mango lassi's. Everything was good, would re-order except garlic naan, probably would get regular naan instead. Felt like the minced garlic on top was a bit burnt. Few ethnic options in Truckee, so if tired of the standard burgers, pizza, other American foods, and don't want to cook, this is a good option. Clean restaurant, clean bathrooms. Would return if we had to charge around dinner time and didn't want to cook.

We always crave Indian food whenever we travel. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we arrived at 5 pm. We ordered all our favorites: the garlic naan, tika chicken kebab, butter chicken, vegetable biriyani and mango lassa to wash it down. We'll definitely be back to this joint. Love the food. Beautifully executed with excellent customer service!

Ridonkulous

Ridiculously expensive for the tiny little bowls of curry they give you. I found a hair in the rice plate. The decorations are questionable at best, and the waiter was very quiet and worked slow even though we were the only people there (party of 5). There were particles floating in out waters and all the utensils, plates and cups were dirty. I don't recommend coming here at all. Also, the buffet is closed so ?.

This place is fantastic, but let me first set your expectations right. If you are from India and missing the dabha type of food, this place is for you we ordered for vegetarian dishes, and all of them were freshly made. Tasted very good. The tandoori roti, the rice and tava roti tasted fantastic and had a homemade/Dabba made type of food. For the non-Indians, it means the food will be less creamy. Will have some very good flavors. It will be less heavy. You might feel that this is not high end food, but it is actually most authentic and delicious food. The yogurt is made at the restaurant and you can feel the difference Surender, the guy who took care of us was very nice, caring, and professional. Bottom line come enjoy a good simple experience but extremely delicious food.

Literally 90 minutes wait after ordering the food. 10-20 minutes before that just to that ale your order. Only 4 tables were busy out of 12-ish. They have zero clues on how to run a restaurant.

Great food. They have parathas that you can ask for (not on the menu). Chai was good. Papdi chaat was also great. Food came pretty fast.

This is an absolutely terrible place. We found HAIR in our naan breads.Every curry tasted different from what it should, basically it was a shade of orange and red.The server was arrogant, rude and completely nonchalant to what was going on. Skip this place if you are craving Indian food after a tiring day on the slopes.Very disappointed.

We asked the locals about this restaurant, and despite mixed reviews, we tried it at lunchtime. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed the chicken tandoori, eggplant, saag paneer and lamb curry. More than enough for 2 adults and a teenager. The food was fresh, there was plenty of sitting room. Service was quick. We will return again.

very authentic, from the food, to music, server and everything. Delicious Indian food. Highly recommend the bread basket (assorted naans), it matches all kinds of curry or masala dishes.

Salty and stale basically sums it up. This is my second time here, wanted it to be better but unfortunately they missed the mark again. The price is ridiculous for the quality :(

Not only was the food legit good, the service was above and beyond! We ordered food ahead of time to eat on our way into Tahoe then got caught in a snow storm. They waited for us past closing to make sure we had our meal when we arrived. I will put this restaurant on my list every time I come to Tahoe. What an asset to the community!
