This is a great spot with excellent food. The owner is super nice and the atmosphere is very welcoming. We had previously ordered food through DoorDash and finally went in person and it did not disappoint! They also have a little coffee place in the restaurant that makes really good drinks as well. 5/5 will go again!
Had the Torta today... surprised to have fried cheese in it! We both had beef and the Azucar Moreno reminded me of a Dutch Brothers drink without having to wait in a LONG line!

When I order from a taqueria and ask for "extra spicy," it's very common that nothing happens there. Maybe they add pico de gallo, but otherwise it seems like most places shrug off that request.Taqueria La Primera is in my hall of fame now. Not only for doing their best to give my order some kick, but also for just serving some great-tasting food. Lots of places around Turlock (even the taco trucks) are jacking up prices, but keeping quality the same. I felt like La Primera was the perfect balance of price, flavor, and quality. The asada in my burrito tasted like it had just come off the grill and the flavor was outstanding with that extra spice. I had to stop myself from ordering another one for later.It's right off Main Street and worth seeking out. As of now, it has one of my favorite burritos in Turlock.

I had the quesadilla con Lengua (tongue) it was the best !! It's hard to find a place that knows how to cook Lengua correctly and this place got it !! Definitely returning ! The service was top notch as well!

Food here is phenomenal!! Affordable, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. Carne Asada and Chicken was juicy and super fresh. If you don’t try this place, you’re missing out. I’ll be back for sure!!

Ordered the chilaquiles and got some kind of tortilla and egg scramble with spicy salsa. Not even close to what chilaquiles are supposed to be. Would not recommend them.

The restaurant is half Cafe Rome and half Taqueria La Primera as of now. We came in for Cafe Rome and ended up getting food from both menus. The nachos were good! Would like to go back and try more off the menu
