As a third gen San Diegan, believe me when I tell you this is the closest to an authentic San Diego taco shop I've seen in the Irvine/Tustin area. The feel is dead on, and the food is pretty close. I had the chicken rolled tacos, and my kids had bean & cheese burritos bigger than their tiny bodies can handle (and THAT'S how you know it is a San Diego style taco shop). I, personally, could've enjoyed some better beans and more exciting hot sauces, but this is like a little taste of home even still. (And anyway, every San Diegan knows there's a beans place, a pollo place, etc.) I'm so used to taco shops, that I don't expect restaurant-style customer service. They were a little taciturn but not remarkably so, as others have mentioned. I will say that the search for the best taco shop continues, but I think this was a pretty solid find.

As a first gen San Diegan, let me tell you this place is far from authentic and would be considered drunk food or I'm starving on a budget food. Got two breakfast burritos. Ordering was difficult. I said one steak and one ham, they kept saying sausage, we went back and forth. So before I got the food I was expecting it to be incorrect but whatever. The food itself was not very good. I wouldn't say inedible. But just not good. If it wasn't for the convenience of a drive thru I would never go. And I probably still will never go back. The weirdest part was the eggs in the burrito. They seemed discolored and the steak looked more like ground beef, the ham appeared to be sliced sandwich meat thrown on a flat top. I would only eat here if I was starving and it was the only place open.

Extremely rude staff and you can never get a hold of anyone on the phone during open hours. They will not answer. Will not be coming back. Not to mention food is not that great.

Good food. The carnitas burrito was packed top to bottom. Nice and greasy too..or you can call it meat juices.. nice spot

Food is usually very good. Tonight was an exception. Beans were 'pasty' and horchata had a soapy taste. When I tried to call and let them know, all I got was a busy signal. A lot of time is going to pass before returning again.

One of the uniqueness is this spot has a drive-thru. The food feels authentic and very tasty. I highly recommend giving this a try!

I would drive all the way from Laguna Niguel... this Used to be my favorite restaurant. Not anymore. Over priced and horrible customer. I've called & they literally answered the phone then hung up. I was calling to tell them they messed up on an order. He advised me to call back to speak to a manager for a refund. Although the hours say open at 8 am they haven't answered. Very unfortunate.

Easy access and good hours. The food was so-so. Fish in the burrito tasted more like chicken, though the salsa in it was really good.

I had the shrimp burrito... delicious. Every bite I took, I bit into a shrimp. That was my first time eating from here and everything was fresh and delicious.

I dig this place. Late night drive thru. This place screams Socal. Had the rolled tacos. Beans rice and 3 rolled tacos. Less then 15 bucks. A little pricey, but wait till you try the salsa. Spicy orange garlic goodness. I'm hooked. Wife said crunchy taco was one of the best she has had. Fries were also. This is a dive spot worth making the sacrafice for.

Service was good but I shouldn't taste that much garlic in a bean and cheese burrito ? Chill out on the garlic salt, the beans don't need that much! Pretty overpowering, and lingering in my mouth. Let the beans shine!! Tortilla and hot sauce were good though.

The food was so lousy that the manager refunded my credit card for my entire order. This place is overpriced compared to similar restaurants. When I ordered the Super Nachos and asked for the beef, I was not told that it had bell peppers in it and there is nothing on their menu that says that it contains bell peppers. And even though the menu says guacamole, all it is, is mashed up avocados with nothing else in it. Mashup avocados are what people use in place of mayonnaise when trying to cut down on fat or are on some sort of diet. The picture of the yellow menu belongs to this place. The menu picture set shows the menu up on a wall belongs to is similar place. As you can see Alberta's is a lot more expensive.

Over priced for a burrito with nothing beside rice, bean, and meat. Found hairs in food, nasty old wet chicken, no flavor, literally bout to puke afterward. I would recommend eating Del Taco, with a side of dog food over this
