China West Express is a little hole in the wall place that just might be your best bet for Americanized Chinese food in Tustin. Although they do have a few tables inside, it is primarily a to go place. I've yet to see anyone eating inside. The to go orders are very well packed up, so much so the food will still be hot when you get it home. The place is a 15 minute drive for me. The folks who run the counter have always been very friendly and polite. The entrees are cooked to order, which is far superior to a nearby competitor's practice of serving food out of chaffing dishes. Expect about 10 minutes for your order to come out, but it could be a little longer if they are busy. No biggie. Their generously portioned Lunch Box deal is a great value. For $10.99 you get your choice of entree, your choice of chow mein or white rice, your choice of egg flower or hot and sour soup, your choice of a canned soft drink, an egg roll, and a fortune cookie. The food is good, but I don't care for their chow mein, so I go with steamed white rice. It's a good place and one of the gems of Tustin. My pics are better if you click on them.

Terrible service. I e been coming here for almost 10 years. In the last 6-8 months, every time I've ordered delivery they have been over an hour late. The last time I ordered I called and they said the delivery person left 20 minutes ago and should be there in 15-20 min. No thanks. I paid $130 I do not want cold Chinese food. I'll never go back

Ordered via Door Dash. Arrived well packaged, hot and accurate. They didn’t skimp on quality ingredients! Chicken fried rice had large pieces of high grade chicken. The house special pepper beef steak had awesome tender filet mignon and lots of fresh peppers and onions. Egg rolls didn’t disappoint either.

Called in an order for pick up (hot and sour soup) and it was ready in 10 min. Delicious and exactly what I was hoping for. They even included fried noodles as a snack. Reminds me of my favorite Chinese restaurant growing up, but as a take out restaurant. Can’t wait to try more dishes!

Usually get take out from here which never disappointed and was always delivered fast. Decided to go in, while it's not super dine in style theres still a few tables to sit at and the food is amazing!! Honey glazed shrimp and Singapore Noodles are so good especially fresh. Staff was super nice and fast unlike the some reviews I've seen. Good job team!!

VERY LONG wait times here even if you order for pickup. They are soo slow here its not even funny. They do not care and if you come inside expect to be ignored for several minutes because they have zero customer service

Okay food and questionable cleanliness.. What I disliked about my experience: while waiting for my food, I see the one chef step away from cooking to blow his nose and go right back to cooking without handwashing or sanitizing. A few minutes later I see another worker peeling vegetables on a table next to me with no cutting board or mat being used - he just poured the veggies directly onto the table and is peeling them into a delivery bag with no gloves. I don't expect these A1 cleanliness from these types of places, but as a customer these actions are pretty gross. This place is really just a ghost kitchen and tailored more for delivery/takeout. Food was just okay - kung pal chicken was good, fried rice and chow mein were meh. Never coming back here again

This place has amazing food 5 stars there! But every time I call and order there seems to be a disconnect with the front to the cooks. I waited 25 minutes for my food today after I phone ordered. A lady came in and ordered 7 lunch specials and still go her food before I did. I asked several times if my order was ready and it wasn't until I asked the 5th time that I actually got my order. I want to continue to eat at China west as the food is amazing but the wait time needs to be corrected. This affects my lunch time.

Excellent food and good portions. Food is always cooked fresh to perfection. I usually have it delivered. Arrives nice and warm. Although this place has minimal seating, the food is always delicious and reliable. Staff is friendly, too!

I’m actually impressed at how bland everything was. The crispy wontons were stale and gross with almost zero filling. Mongolian beef was totally bland. No flavor. It just tasted like boiled beef. The spring rolls just tasted like boiled lettuce. The orange beef was nicely crispy and had some flavor, but not much. Even the mushu pork was only moderately flavorful after dousing it in plum sauce. The fried rice tasted like oil and thats it. We are severely disappointed and will not be back. I’ve never, ever had Chinese food that was so absolutely, impressively bland.
