The restaurant charged 20% tip after tax for party of 6 and above (we split the check)! Without any sign or communication of this beforehand. Why do I need to pay 20% of the tax amount to the restaurant? When I asked the manager to allow me to choose the tip, he said it’s default by the system, he couldn’t do anything about it….will never go there again!

Came to Mama Lus for the first time after golf. Their salt and spicy pork chops were delicious. The pea shoots were tasty and the chicken and corn soup hit the spot after a long afternoon on the golf course. The staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!

I won’t comment on whether it’s delicious or not, because I didn’t go in to eat, so I was looked down upon by Lao Mo at the door. I asked if there was any special lunch? I was told no, and then the eldest brother turned around and left. I saw no one was there to welcome me, so I could only leave in despair.

Chicken dumplings are A1, chicken fried rice is really good and the portions are VERY generous. I recommend the Shanghai noodles and also the coconut buns with condensed milk. My one and only complaint is that they should have more chicken options like chicken buns. However, this place is MUCH better than ding tai fung, and the price for the food is very reasonable! Especially in today's economy you get what you pay for and more.

I came with some friends to try out Mama Lu's in Tustin. It's located by a supermarket and shares the same building.Mama Lu's has great dumplings, hence their name. But they also have a wide variety of other Chinese dishes.Their XLB dumplings are always a hit. Juicy with a good amount of soup filling. I also like their wontons and wonton soup, fried fish with seaweed, and honey walnut shrimp.I tried the new Cornish hen, but it was a little dry. Some of their fried foods like the orange chicken had too much batter and was a little tough.Flavors were good though, and the service was friendly.

It tastes awful! How can you open a shop if it tastes so bad? They are all made of semi-finished products! The meat is sour! Whoever goes will regret it! It tastes so bad that I don’t even have to pay for it.

Mama Lu's dumpling house offers delicious food with friendly staff. We highly recommend this spot to dumpling enthusiasts. Our top picks were the orange chicken, string beans, and, of course, the dumplings. The cozy atmosphere at Mama Lu's dumpling house invites guests to savor every bite of their delectable offerings. As you walk in, the aroma of freshly cooked dumplings fills the air, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The orange chicken, with its perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, is a definite crowa-pleaser. The crispy string beans add a delightful crunch to your meal, perfectly complementing the tender dumplings that practically melt in your mouth with each bite. The staff at Mama Lu's are as warm as the steaming baskets of dumplings they serve, making every visit a joyful culinary adventure. Whether you're a long-time dumpling enthusiast or a newcomer to this delightful cuisine, Mama Lu's dumpling house is sure to leave you craving more.

I don’t have chance to visit their original location in Monterey Park but I am so glad they newly opened the Tustin one which is closed to my home. Mama Lu’s is located next to an Asian food warehouse market that is also super fun to visit and shop while you wait for your table.I have dinner with my friends here, and all the dishes we ordered were good. The dumplings were definitely juiciness. I also tried the newest item which isthe Cornish hen. It had a nice crispyskin and juicy tender meat. The dish came with dry seasoning on the side and lemon. The chicken was already flavored to perfection so you don't need that extra seasoning--a squeeze of lemon gave it a refreshing taste. All dishes were amazing as well. The fish with seaweed I loved so much! I rarely eat fried food, however this fish I cannot stop to eat after the first bite. Fish were tender and juicy, with the seaweed I can tell that was the perfect combination! They provided a excellent service. They refilled my water and exchanged my plates! There are plenty of parking! There are plenty of parking!

The food was enjoyable and reasonably priced.Wait staff seemed spread a bit thin for a busy Saturday night, but service wasn't too slow.Juan G was very accommodating in returning my wife's favorite hat after she left it in our booth.

Great place except my Hindu friend given pork in his ma po tofu . Not only is this dish under the veggie section we told our waiter my friend was a vegetarian. When we noticed shreds of pork in the food the waiter then argued that mo pa was a meat dish , then the manager argued also . We asked for vegetarian. The restaurant has no idea how my Hindu friend was affected and they just brushed it off . Of course he only had one bite , no food was offered to replace and he went without lunch .Service baaaaaaad

This place is a Chinese tradition restaurant. Every flavoring of dumpling you can get. The flavor has a nice juicy succulent smooth taste. So many choices to get full and food satisfied. We ordered pork, ribs, fish, and seaweed, orange, chicken, dumpling soup, and one of their specialties is the roasted chicken. The portions are huge so if everyone orders one plate, they can take a little bit off of each plate and before. This place is a good atmosphere and it is family friendly. The service and staff were amazing and they were on top of everything that we needed. We are for sure coming back to this place to eat again as a group. We were very satisfied with this place.Vegetarian options: Some options

I visited this location with my family last night. It was located next to the Rivera market and restaurant supply. We had order the beef wrap which was decent, fried fish fillet with seaweed which was good, honey garlic pork chop which was also good, the sauteed pea pod leaf had sufficient oil and garlic which was good. Pea pod need oil to make it delicious. Service was adequate. They even offered to pack our leftover but we always like to pack it ourselves.

The Tustin location has introduced a new dish, after seeing it on Instagram, I couldn't resist giving it a try!Initially, I was concerned that the crispy skin might make the chicken dry, but my worries were quickly dispelled with the first bite—it was incredibly juicy!Of course, I couldn't resist ordering dumplings as well. For me, dumplings are the epitome of Chinese cuisine, so I make sure to order them every time I visit.
