Last Saturday we had lunch there. It was semi busy but certainly not anywhere near capacity. We were seated promptly and waiting on in a reasonable amount of time. The server was engaged and attentive but he was waiting on entirely too many tables. As a result, our food arrived warm-ish. I saw our burgers placed on the counter to be picked up and taken to us but it sat there for a good 5 minutes. By that time it wasn't hot and barely warm. My friend mentioned to the server that his friend were cold. To his credit, the server had hot fries in a basket within about 15 seconds. That was amazing. It did not, however, necessarily compensate for the over-arching lack of organization and lack of wait staff to adequately take care of the patrons. Hats off to our server though. Unfortunately I never caught his name.

The appetizers where horrible. Ordered the trio. The quesidillas tasted very salty and nasty, the spinach dip was also very salty and bad. We asked for more bread to try to digest the salty dip, it never came. The server was doing front desk and serving. She was not keeping up with all request. I let her know how bad the food was and she just said, "oh".

Good food, great place for a ladies breakfast. They were out of spice muffins which was a bummer! The restaurant could use some updating, looked a little worn. Very slow, possibly due to the rain.

I want to start by saying that my review would be a 2.5-2.7 if those options were available to me. But there was nothing so egregious about the experience to mark it as a 2, so I rounded up to a 3 star. This was my second time back post-Covid. The first time, we ended up not being seated as they wanted to put us next to a large table of very loud women that had just come from church. They were all so loud and rude, like they had never learned how to use their "inside" voices when others were around. After looking at the faces of other diners in that section who were already clearly annoyed as well, we asked to be sat on the 17th Street side of the restaurant, not the side that is closer to the Cooking Lab next door. We were told that it would be a 30-40-minute wait to sit on that side because they were short staffed. So, we walked out to try again another day. Seems like them being short staffed is a common theme in a lot of the reviews, especially since 2022. I would think that they have had 2 years to fix that. Back to today, got seated, again not on the 17th Street side, but it was much quieter and reasonable today. Got there before the church crowds. Restaurant was clean, staff greeted us and got us coffees and waters right away. Decent selection on the breakfast menu and prices were reasonable. I had the bacon, mushroom and brie omelet with crispy potatoes and a blueberry muffin. My wife had the corned beef hash, crispy potatoes, toast, and over easy eggs. Please see the photos that I took for reference. What I did not like about my breakfast was that the omelet sounded amazing on the menu. When I got it, the spinach was part of the omelet, the mushrooms were folded inside, but the 2 small bacon and the brie was only laid on the top. It wasn't really a part of the omelet. The bacon should have been crumbled up and either in the eggs themselves or inside the fold. And the brie was absolutely laughable. Two super tiny slices laid on top, none on the inside. Can you spare it? And overall, it was like there was literally no flavor to the omelet. Would it kill you to use a little seasoning? Potatoes were ok, but no seasoning. Blueberry muffin was good but microwaved to make it warm. It gave it a spongy, balloon type texture, not crumbly like you would expect a muffin to be. The toast had no butter on it and was ice-cold. The server did a good job of replacing it when we informed them, but again, no butter on it. Most places you have to ask for it dry if you want it that way. Here it seems to be the default. The corned beef hash was a good quality, but it also was cold. The over-easy eggs were spot on though. It appeared they didn't get everything on the plate at the same time before serving. They made the toast first, waited 5 minutes to put the corned beef hash on the plate, waited 5 more minutes for the potatoes to be done and then remembered to put the eggs on at the last minute. Very disjointed and not cohesive. Some warm, some cold. It seems that Mimi's has really fallen down on the overall dining quality from their glory days of being a great place to go. Super sorry to hear that as I had always considered them to be wonderful choice. But it seems that a lot of other reviewers feel the same way, just look at the ratings. Hopefully they can steer the ship back into smooth waters and make a concerted effort to be a terrific experience for diners again. Hope this helps.

Sigh...farewell, Mimi's. Adieu to what used to be a reliable, predictable middlebrow dining experience. I read the 5-star reviews on this page and assume I must have gone into the multiverse when I ate here one evening with two friends (or maybe Mimi's has a lot of family who help out on their reviews) because my last two experiences here were not good. The French onion soup is a mainstay that saved the evening. The bacon avocado omelet had two soggy strips of bacon laid across the top (not chopped and added into the omelet itself) with a couple bruised, orphaned little slices of avocado on top off them. The "roasted potatoes" were hard little moon pebbles that had ZERO flavor, hardly warm. Service? Really? Despite the fact there were only four parties dining in our huge section, our waiter had an attitude of being hurried and impatient. Three people, TWO set-ups with silverware on the table as we sat down. No attempt to fix that (I did food service 5 years in college and dear God, this is the FIRST thing you notice so a guest never has to ask for a knife and fork) until my friend got up and took one off an adjacent table). Let's see...an omelet with toast might require jam for the guest's toast... My polite ask resulted in a scowl, which is all this guy seemed capable of. Despite this, and because of my years in food service, I still left a decent tip. Au revoir, Mimi's! It was a lovely affair, but all good things must come to an end!

I came with a friend to get brunch we both got the same thing which was a French Toast with berries which came with a side of eggs and sausage or bacon etc. The food was really delicious the French toast had a filling inside and the berries were fresh. To drink I got a strawberry lemonade there was mushy strawberries in the drink and it made it hard to sip but it was good other than that. Ratings - French Toast 10/10 ; Strawberry Lemonade Drink 8/10

The quality of the food here is always great not to mention the very wide menu selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service at this location of Mimi's is to especially good, friendly and efficient and it certainly provides a very nice atmosphere for a family meal or even a small business meeting .

Great service from Johnny. Super nice waiter and very friendly and funny. The food was amazing as well. French onion soup was perfect as usual and the Bacon, Bleu, Walnut salad was amazing! Can't wait to come back!

I came here with my family on 1/13/24 and overall the experience was great. I orders the sandwich trio and the food was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone hungry and in the mood for a great breakfast and trying to enjoy a vibe. The service was great and fast. Definitely will come back soon!

Love this place. I also feel very at ease here. The environment inside the restaurant is very peaceful, no disturbance with loud noise by others or blasting music.

I went there for a paint night event. I had dinner and then we did the paint event. I had my own wine and wine opener and the fucken waiter had the audacity to charge me an uncorking fee, he did not even bother to serve us we had to look for him to ask for 3 fucken glasses. He never told me there would be a fee. He was a dick about it. Fuck him! The place is a bit dirty by dirty I swear gum stuck in tables. Enter at your own risk. Shady workers. Food ok if you're super hungry. Not great.

Omg what happened to the glory days of Mimi's Cafe? We decided to go there last night after several years. I remember the days you had to wait in long lines to be seated. Unfortunately it's not at all what it used to be. We ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken which was dry and lime rubber. It was served with soggy overcooked broccoli and string beans. I ordered a side petite salad to go with it and after explaining which salad dressing I wanted the server forgot to bring it all together. We also had the beef French dip sandwich. Sadly the aujus dipping sauce was just way too salty to enjoy. Another observation about the ambiance was how brightly lit the restaurant was. I asked the server why it was so bright almost giving me a headache and she just agreed with me and changed the subject. I'm sad to write such a negative review about what was once an enjoyable place to dine but management needs to know what the public is thinking in order to take appropriate action to improve or just close it up.

This Mimi‘s used to be awesome however, has gone downhill. I was there in November. Food was good service quite slow. I was there today service very slow. Only noticed two waitresses during lunch hour. Ladies restroom was filthy. Food was OK but not worth What we paid for it . I ordered the quiche the quiche which was good and warm came with a side salad, which was wilted lettuce and brown and black. I sent it back and asked for another salad which I got and it was OK don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. Very sad.

Love coming to this Mimi's, the service and food are always great! My favorite time is breakfast. I usually get pain perdu with eggs on the side or the bacon avocado omelet. Highly recommend taking muffins home too, especially carrot raisin.
