We found this restaurant by accident, and were very happy to discover such a jewel. Food is great, the service is efficient and friendly, and the prices are unbeatable. We loved everything we ordered, so I would not be able to say that any particular dish was my favorite -- everything was fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Chinese Cuisine.

This place dishes out some delicious Shanghai style food. I believe it used to be called Zi Wei? Both Zi Wei and Shanghai Cuisine serve this amazing salted pork and vegetable rice - its so addicting. The variety of items offered and the quality of each is impressive given how different each item can be. I also like the sauteed string beans and Northern style tofu. Overall i think that this is such a great place to order takeout for the family and has enough items on the menu to satisfy everyone. My only critique would be the inconsistency in portion size. When we order certain items, sometimes the portions come as gigantic, other times it can be about 30% less. I'm guessing this is dependent on the amount of an ingredient they have on hand, but I still find the inconsistency a bit annoying. Nevertheless, this would not stop us from coming back.

Delicious food and ridiculously fast. Every dish that came out was delicious. Highly recommend the D28. Sauteed pork intestines, if you eat that sort of stuff. Best I've tried anywhere. Fried to perfect crispiness. The tofu wrapped pork was a surprise yummy item. All others tasted great as well.

Chanced upon this place. Kids loved the XLBs. The Claypot Fish Fillet with Eggplant and Shanghai Style Chow Mein were pretty good too.

Found meat in vegetarian dish! I have marked clearly in both Chinese and English that I want vegetarian. You can’t make a dish vegetarian by taking the meat out!!! This is simply not acceptable.

I was going to give this place a try, but walked by and saw that the staff was not wearing masks and actively talking and laughing with each other. This includes the person dealing with the food and the lady taking orders and packaging take-out. Would not recommend for covid times and maybe even after. 4/10/2021

This is the best Kung Pao chicken I’ve had in my life. It is unique and unlike I’ve had at other restaurants. Their pork dumplings and Yang Chao fried rice go great with it. It is very original food and something locals introduced me to. I like authentic Chinese and Indian food from back home. This is stellar, I haven’t tried the other dishes here though.

Authentic Shanghainese. They are doing delivery via doordash and service was quick and efficient. Good communication as they called us to confirm a substitution for one of our dishes - amusingly they didn't even bother with English likely based on our order. We did twice-cooked pork, salt yolk prawns, Shanghai style sautéed delicacies, Yangzhou fried rice, and salted pork w bamboo casserole was our sub for the duck soup. All solid. They do have American-Chinese dishes if that's the kind of Chinese food you're looking for. Will be back to try more things.

***Shelter In Place Edition*** I had a pot full of white rice, but had no main courses to eat. Since I was craving some Chinese food, so I found Shanghai Cuisine, which was not far from where ai reside. I placed an order on a good delivery app for the following items: - Pork Xiao Long Bao - Shrimp with scrambled eggs - Sweet and sour pork ribs It didn't take long for my order to arrive. Everything was freshly cooked and packaged nicely. First, I had the Pork XLBs. They were delicious and comparable to other XLB places. And it was cheaper. Next were the sweet and sour pork ribs. The meat was tender and juicy. Lastly, the shrimp and scrambled eggs was good. I love eggs and shrimp and this was perfect! The portions for these dishes were generous. The home cooked white rice paired with everything with no problems. I most definitely would love to try their other menu items!

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - AMERICAN-STYLE AND TRADITIONAL I love the 90's with the TV shows, music, and fashion. One of the things evident from that period were the American-style Chinese food that other Asians like myself preferred. Not everything from the 90's were great as food at restaurants have more variety and taste better now. Even through that period I appreciate how some Chinese restaurants weren't confirming to the customers only but preserving their heritage. Customer have been more open-minded about food than in the past. I don't know how long Shanghai Cuisine has been opened. I must have passed this place numerous times when I was grocery shopping at this plaza. One night I decided to come here to pick up two items - pork spare rib in sweet and sour sauce and spicy pork belly. There was a picture of pork spare rib in sweet and sour sauce but not a picture of the spicy pork belly. I assumed that item would be fatty pork belly in spicy sauce. However when I got the item I didn't realize that item was stomach lining in spicy sauce. I'm not a fan of spicy food but I was glad the spicy sauce cut the gamey taste of the stomach lining. Regardless of this item I appreciated that Shanghai Cuisine wasn't adjusting to my taste. Unlike the first time I came here I had two items delivered - braised dongpo pork and braised pork shank in brown sauce. I had seen a picture of the braised pork shank at the restaurant before. I knew that item was the most expensive items I ever purchased at a Chinese restaurant but I wanted to give it a try. The braised pork shank reminded me of two items - crispy pata, which is a Filipino dish, and schweinshaxe, which is a German dish found in Bavaria. Unlike those two items this braised pork shank is not fried or roasted but boiled. I enjoyed this dish a lot as the brown sauce added a sweetness to the soft, fatty skin. The braised dongpo pork has the same texture as the braised pork shank but without the bone. There's a saying that "you bought off more than you can chew". That was the case with the braised dongpo pork for me. Since the braised dongpo and pork shank were fatty I should have ordered one of those items instead. At first you get concerned with so many items on the menu. When you look at the items at Shanghai Cuisine you see items customized for the American-style pallet and items that are traditional in a Chinese household. That doesn't mean I'm an expert in Chinese food however you can tell from the menu what items are American-style and items that are not. If you like American-style Chinese food but sometimes need a change I recommend coming to Shanghai Cuisine as you can mix items to not only get the American-style Chinese food that you have always enjoyed but also try traditional items that you never had before.

Great food for a hangover. Would probably order something other than the fried rice. The taste was average, and didnt have a eye opener of oh my god I need this in my life. The dimsum was delicious, will explore with the other dimsums in the future.

I been ordering here for a month on Doordash. The fish gluten is my favorite and their salt York pumpkin. Price is great compared to other Chinese restaurants and the taste is authentic.
