Bulacan Bakery is a very decent Filipino bread and dessert shop. It's a small bakery but with plenty of freshly baked goods. My favorite is their bitso bitso because it is only $1.75 a piece and it's huge! It's like a beignet but the dough is flavored with margarine (?) and sprinkled with sugar. I also always buy their ube or cheese breads, and they actually last me a while without expiring or tasting stale. What I really appreciate is the unique flavors of baked goods they offer. For example, they have a variety of strudels (mango, pineapple, guava, cream cheese) and literally almost all of the common and popular Filipino desserts (karioka, bibingka, turon, and many more). I'm quite disappointed with some of the negative reviews here regarding their customer service. I am not a frequent customer here (maybe only once a year visit) nor do I speak Tagalog to them, so I'm literally always a new customer to them, but I've always had a pleasant experience. There is no indoor seating, so I don't really understand the high-quality customer service experience that reviewers are expecting from this bakery.

A greeting, or a smile maybe? How about eye contact? Nothing. I even bought four items and the lady didn't even ask me if I wanted a bag. I'm not one to complain or write bad reviews, but sheesh! She just told me how much, took my money, and just stood there waiting for me to leave. I was the only customer in the bakery at the time, and this was my experience. Bulacan Bakery is a grungy, hole-in-the-wall Filipino bakery in East Vallejo. I don't come here often. But when I do, I buy their pork buns (siopao), pandesal, and my grandson loves their bitso bitso. Ube Crinkles and Turon are good. Overall, a decent bakery, but nothing over the top that keeps me coming back often. And customer service needs improvement.

In the middle of a 100-mile bike ride, I got two chicken empanadas and two turons, and eating this was the best part of my day. The chicken empanadas are so good. I think next time I'll order much more and fill my bike bags up!

Decided to give them another chance today and same bad service. Workers chit chatting with their friends and moving slow while i wait to pay. Has happened multiple times to me already and im filipino. Never going back here again

Multiple bad experiences at this store. Workers moving slow and gossiping with other customers while i stand there for several minutes waiting to pay. Learn how to multitask and take care of ALL your customers. Disgrace to filipinos. Never going here again

Their baked goods are some of the best. Unfortunately, their pricing have gone through the roof. Yes, every business has gone up, but a little too much. I usually come once a week Friday to pick some goodies for the Tai Chi group I'm in. It can be Turon,Empanada, ube crinkles, Danish Mango or Pineapple. Example...the 1/8 sheet of bibingkang $19.50 the 4pk ube crinkles are $7.40?+-. I'll have to cut it to maybe once a month. I hope they survive.

If you're in the mood for some Filipino baked goods, this is a great spot to pop into. It's in an old shopping center, which houses a Filipino super market (Island Pacific), and a bunch of small restaurants up and down the strip. I like their empanadas, cream cheese rolls, and cream cheese bread. Okay, I'm just a s***** for cream cheese. Their turon and karioka are good too, but the turon tends to sell out early. The karioka are huge and they have a great chew on the inside, with a sweet crisp glaze on the outside. The sweet cream cheese rolls in the glass case have a similar look to the ones at Portos except the outside has a glaze instead of sugar. They're chewy if you try to eat them room temp/cold so make sure you throw them into the air fryer to crisp up for optimal taste. They're good but sometimes the glaze is way too thick, even warmed they're chewy and overly sweet. It's hit or miss! They offer a few different flavors but I haven't tried them yet. The cream cheese bread is sooooo soft and fluffy and super filled with cream cheese. These taste like stuffed Hawaiian rolls and are so delicious with a little smear of strawberry jelly. Even without the jelly, these rolls are perfect with a short trip to the microwave or air fryer. Even warmed, the cream cheese is melty but still holds its shape without getting all over the place. These are on the wire racks along the well, and they come in a few diff flavors like pimento cheese or ube. You get 9 pieces for $6 and some change. If you want something savory, definitely give their empanadas a try. They have chicken or beef options and cost about $3 each. They're pretty chunky so I think they're worth the cost. The crust is buttery and flakey, and so good once warmed in the air fryer. They're nicely filled but the flavor is pretty light. The chicken is shredded and you get a good mix of veggies inside - mushrooms, carrots, onions. It's a little sweet though. The beef is ground and you get a similar mix of veggies, except no mushrooms but they add raisins. I take the raisins out though, not a fan. If they made a spicy option, I'd be all over that. I wouldn't go as far to say this is my favorite Filipino bakery, as they keep a small selection of baked goods only, however they're a good option if I need a quick fix. If there's any thing to take away here, I'd say it should be get an air fryer if you don't already have one so you can warm up all your goodies!

Overprice buns and breads!Price increased every month! if no increase, they lessened the contents per bag. Also keep an eye on your receipts.
