I loved Schwartz Bakery on Fairfax. It had a magical vibe. It wasn't just the wonderful bakery but a feeling of walking through a time machine to an older and simpler times. I bought there many times - and have nothing but praise for everyone working there. From the unique attitude of the people working the counter to the other clients standing in line. Schwartz Bakery opened a few new places in the neighborhood and closed their flagship store. The other stores still sell their same high quality bakery goods - and are wonderful - But Nothing Nothing will compare to the original store on Fairfax and it's unique and unforgettable vibe.

I purchase your seeded rye bread at Vons in Henderson, NV. I love the bread but want to know how you slice it. The slices are all different sizes. From very thick to almost translucent. Hard to make sandwiches and toast. Would have given 5 stars if sliced evenly..

I think this place is closed for good. Looks empty with the security gates down. Have tried a serial times but it has been closed every time.

A friend of mine got this delivered and I was impressed. Some of the better kosher food of this kind. Love their chicken in a sweet Chinese like sauce as well as many others.

Uh, not great. Everybody recommended schwartz bakery to us when we visited LA, but their quality was just Ok. Every time we went in, half of the goods were gone. There was nothing special about the food and it was typical factory made flavor. Wouldn't recommend or come again.

worst tasting bakery I've ever experienced Bakeries like this shouldn't exist Overpriced crap with to much sugar

Was well-hyped but a big let down. They had extremely low stock and the staff were completely underwhelmed. They didn't want to take my order for lunch, just shrugged when I asked if they were even serving lunch. Very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend.

Their challah is the best in Los Angeles! Every time I've been there, the baked goods are fresh and very well made. Great place!!

Ordered $61.44 worth of food through Grub Hub. Waited 3 1/2 hours. Never received. Called them numerous times - phone was never answered. From other reviews, the food seems very meh. Got my money back from Grub Hub - but don't order from them. Unless you want to go on a diet.

I will NEVER walk into this bakery again. Shame on them GOUGING!! $9.00 for a Challah. Outrageous! Prices raised just before the Holiday. For years I have trekked to this Bakery on Fairfax for special occasions. I do not live close. I have suffered through terrible service and bad attitudes. I have received in the past over baked and sometimes even the wrong challah from my request. But this is the last straw. This is not Venezuela. And gouging for the High Holidays is sets a terrible tone. Shame on you!!!
