We lived in the neighborhood for over 5 years now. Thirsty Merchant is one of the walkable hang out spots to grab a beer and some food. We’ve tried so many times to like this place, we’ve brought family visiting from out of town, friends, a little date away from the baby…it’s shocking how bad service have been every single time. Me and my husband both work in the industry so we get being busy or having off days but we finally gave up. It really comes down to how rude the staff is. The bar and the door especially. We officially gave up on trying. So sad cause it’s so close.

Horrible. Dirty. Saw baby cockroaches near the booth seatings. Bartenders are very rude.

The best happy hour in LA. And it’s ALL DAY. Great events, plenty of outside seating, and the kitchen is open late.

So our food was pretty good, except for the western burger. But what was wild is that their happy hour is 4 hours and the whole time they charged us non happy hour prices.Interesting.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a good time at a sports bar until here. Seating options were awesome for both inside & out. Although it was pretty busy for Sunday football, drink & food came out surprisingly fast & both looked/tased AMAZING ! The crowd was NOT rough or loud despite the mix of teams. Overall amazing place & can not wait to go back
Really fun vibe and good people. It’s like 3 different places in one: a dive bar at the bar, restaurant tables area and then a great outdoor patio section.

Went during happy hour, parking was full but we managed to squeeze in! The drinks were great, double shot Paloma was refreshing and a nice way to end the work week. Service was quick and friendly; server was very accommodating and cleared plates out quickly! Garlic Buffalo wings were my favorite this time but their pizzas are always great! It was a fun space to sit and chat, music choices were jazzy and the sports fans were appeased!

A little bit divey but in a good, fun way. The drinks were well made and the food even better!

Wish they had an actual chef who cared. I spent $150 and left starving. The drinks where excellent as was the service. Too bad all the food was horrible. Uncooked cauliflower..mushy runny deviled eggs, got tots instead of fries..spinach dip salty as hell..smh really this could have easily been amazing if only the chef caredVegetarian options: Poorly executed
