I contacted Misah regarding catering for my birthday party for 30 people. From the very start, Misah and his staff were polite, professional, and friendly. My wife took me to the restaurant for lunch to sample the food a couple of days before the party. Misah was very nice in person as well. The food was freshly prepared and very delicious. All the sides were good as well; the lentil soup, cucumber yogurt, and hummus. He offered us free desserts to sample. Their homemade baklava is so good. When they prepare your catering order, they cook the kabob close to your pickup time so that it is hot and fresh when you get home. They use very good quality containers for transporting the food. Our party guests loved the food so much that we barely had any leftovers for the next day. We will definitely eat at Chelo in the future. It is a small hidden gem in Van Nuys.

Good food and friendly staff. I got stuck doing jury duty and I could eat this food every day! Kabob needs to be made well and given the proper spices. They know what they're doing to say the least!

Every single thing on my plate was incredible! I shared a combo plate with my partner and it was enough for both to share. The lentil soup was delicious, the meat was juicy and so flavorful! Once you have the hummus, you won't be able to go back to store bought hummus! It was our first time and the service was great! Definitely a hidden gem in the valley! Will be back soon( they have a punch card reward system)

The most delicious and affordable hole in the wall spot that you can find!!! I absolutely loved the food the moment I tried it. I've never had so many flavorful and consistent items from one place before. The lentil soup was one of the most delicious soups I've ever had. The hummus was perfect; just the way I like it! The gyro sandwich was very good as well. I'm not the biggest fan of feta, but the rest of the sandwich was still good, so it was easy to ignore that part. The star of the show was definitely the Lemon Butter Salmon Kebab!! It was well-made and the the buttery mixture on top was chef's kiss! The food came fairly fast as well, which added to the experience as a whole. I definitely recommend this place!

Best Persian food you can ever taste! I ordered for my friend's gathering and I cannot express in words how grateful I was; the food is beyond amazing. I will never order from any other place in the future. The presentation, the taste and the quality are excellent. Tender and juicy meat and chicken. Salad is a piece of art. As for the rice, fluffy and delicious. And all the side dishes are amazing. And if you ask me about the owner Misagh, he is such an amazing gentleman who cares about his client's satisfaction. I would give more than 5 stars to this place. Do not hesitate or search for any other restaurant if you need Persian food. The quality of their fare, from the freshly baked bread to the heavenly Saffron drink and irresistible chicken salad, has stood the test of time. I'm use to steak kabobs being really tough to chew, but this meat was tender, juicy, and had great flavor. Salad and rice tasted fresh. There was a small complimentary container of lentil soup that was so good I may need to return and get a large bowl. Lastly, as a proud lemonade fan and addict, the cucumber lemonade was very good.
