I decided to check out for the 1st time for my 30 minute lunch and ordered takeout to save time but when I arrived a male by the name of Gurt rudely let me know it was a flat NO to dine in. I asked why he said we could eat at the bar. I kindly let Gurt know his execution was extremely rude and the website does not state any policy of not being able to dine in takeout. I will not be coming back or recommend this place for any healthcare workers like myself who have a short limited time for lunch. I ordered the tom yum soup that I do not recommend as well, my co worker ordered chicken green beans with rice.

I used to live in the valley and would come here all the time. Now I live on the westside and tried 5 different Thai places near me that are walking distance and nothing comes close. I drove 30 minutes out of my way to come to Kinnara! They make the most amazing soft shell crab and add a side salad with it, it’s a soft shell crab salad! Then I get their yellow curry which is a staple and delicious but the drunken noodles is my favorite by far! Just the right amount of spice and flavor, this is by far one of the best Thai places in Southern California!

Order chicken teriyaki food was very bland, not a lot of flavor.

My wife and I were heading home for the night and wanted some take out for dinner. The people welcome us is nice and the place has some family and Christmas vibe. I ordered the ribs. The meat was just a tad bit on the dry side like well done.

It's a nice and clean restaurant decorated with Thai theme. We ordered the salmon curry and chicken skewers. They both come with rice and salad. Overall, the food is good, though the curry is slightly on the sweeter side for my taste.Parking: Many adjacent businesses nearby, therefore parking is scarceWheelchair accessibility: Yes, it's wheelchair accessible

BEWARE: THIS RESTAURANT CHARGES 18% GRATUITY REGARDLESS OF PARTY SIZE OR POOR SERVICEI've been to this restaurant a few times previously on week days and the hostess/waitress, food and service were always exceptional. The owner/mgr tainted my recent experience to the point that I am giving a one-star rating. This last visit left a bad taste in my mouth as the owner/mgr appears to have a bias toward none-asian patrons. We arrived @ 1:40pm and before we could get comfortable at our table, the owner/mgr told us that they close at 3pm. We never felt welcomed after that point. We ordered side salads to start, but they were served after we received our entrees which defeated the purpose. The restaurant is small and it was easy to see that the owner/mgr was devoting her time to the other two tables as she frequently hovered over the other tables, but not ours. We had to inquire about our salads twice. After all the food had been served, the mgr never came back to check on us. My lunch date had finished her water and the owner/mgr came to refill her glass, but we had already finished eating and had asked for the check by this time.Since I had never paid the checks previously, I didn't know that the restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity to the check regardless of party size or quality of service and food.Based on the service, I informed the owner/mgr that if they are going to automatically add an 18% gratuity to all checks, then at least provide good service. I told her that the service she provided to our party of two was bad as I witnessed her hovering and catering to the two other tables that had parties of four and six respectively. The mgr became loud, defensive, and started over talking me. I asked her to lower her voice--she did not. She kept stating that the the gratuity is listed on the menu. I told her that I was not disputing that information--I was disputing the poor service. She went on and on and then inferred that we were rude in how we asked for things. I asked her at what point were we rude? She just walked away. First of all, other than our food, the only things I asked for were extra napkins and the check. Other than that, we didn't see her which is the point that needed to be made. She came back and said that if I didn't want to pay the gratuity she would remove it. Since she offered, I told her to remove it--she didn't deserve it.I was going to pay the entire check, including the $11 gratuity. However, my point to management is if they are going to automatically charge patrons an 18% gratuity, they have a duty to at least provide good service--notice that I didn't even say excellent service. Finally, the owner/mgr needs to be respectful. She also needs to tighten up and at least pretend to like all patrons who visit her establishment. Her biased behavior was beyond obvious.Needless to say, we won't return to this establishment.

They added additional charges and items that we didn’t receive or order. This has happened to my husband and I twice now. Unfortunately for them, we will never be patrons again. We have been huge supporters since the first location on Beverly Blvd. We were told that the second location now on Sherman Way in Van Nuys was struggling, so we made it a point to support and dine there regularly. Now, never again.

Kinnara Thai is always good to us. During our most recent visit we ordered to go. The food was fresh and tasted amazing, as if we were sitting in the restaurant. We love this place so much that we trust the menu enough to try something new every time we visit. We can't wait to go back and share this place with family and friends.

Be aware they added a service fee of 15% on checks for 1 person on top of already high prices. They don't warn you about this and I think it is wrong. I would avoid this place until they change policy!

Good food. Tasty. Decent ambiance, nicer and cleaner than most Thai restaurants. Service was decent. Very good food.

Had the best time here drinking Sake. Their food is magnificent too. Try their tiger ribeye steak, their seabass tamarind is to die for, and happy hour is every day from 4-7pm

Kinnara is our go to Thai restaurant in the Valley. The food is always fresh, of excellent quality and somewhat different from the more common Thai restaurant. We have tried many of the selections on the menu but tonight we ordered crispy Tamarind Sea Bass (a good sized Branzino), Penang lamb chops, a special, and stir fried mix veggies. Great dinner! The service was wonderful and they gave us fresh rice for our take home leftovers. It is a very nice place to take friends as its quiet so you can talk. I have yet to be disappointed here so five stars. BTW, I’ve been to Thailand at least ten times so I am not a newbie.
