This year was my second time got robbed at restaurants depot van Nuys and my cousin second times at other restaurants depot at the park lot. Second times for me is when I about to leave but I can't back up because they're have to car block me and come to robbed me by breaking my car window. But same day a few car break in but no one call the police. After the incident store employees told me you must more be careful next time. Don't use your purse , come with someone have to locked your car. Ok. After the first time I already more be careful always look around me warning all customers that's not my job because restaurants depot employees didn't do their job well never care about customers safety. Second if I still go to shop at restaurants depot I'll get rob again some day. Or maybe until someone get killed so restaurants depot corporations do something. I called corporations but they're didn't care about customers safety unless happened to their employees and get sued. I request why not put some security guards, answer too much money to pay. Why not close 1 side make gate. Answer no it's inconvenience for customers. How about restaurant depot Pasadena or down town LA ? Why they're can do it why not at Van Nuys? Do you think that customers that shop daily there get supplies for free? Have you ever think about their safety like you said? I understand is happening everywhere now but it's more offend there. A lot of supply store and security ever thought markets oh I forget important things because all other store customers steal that's why. At restaurants depot theft steal and rob customers only so restaurants depot doesn't loss. One thing I locked my car I was robbed while I'm in my car. Now do I need security guard myself to shop for my business at restaurants depot?

My hubby and I shop here for our plastic bags to run our baking business. Pro tip: Get a day pass soon as you enter in order to help you checkout faster. They also sell many other items at wholesale prices including meats and alcohol. Ample parking available. Love this place!

I've been a good customer but every time I visit the store in the morning I encounter the same issue: long lines at the checkout with only 2 or 3 cash registers open, resulting in a minimum 15-minute wait time. FROZEN PRODUCTS melt before I even reach the cashiers. It is not ok for professionals to be unable to buy frozen products and spend time when we have to open our store.

Been going here for 9 years since it's really the only place that Carrie's everything we need at the restaurant. The place has been going down hill ever since the pandemic and I don't think they have recovered yet. They are always short staff and lines take longer to go through than shopping for your items. Just last week I got my car broken into at 815am in broad daylight. They have workers all the time outside so I don't get how they don't see or hear anything. My truck was parked 4 cars from the entrance too. When I told I the manager, he said he happens all the time. Well , if it happens all the the time, why dont you do something about it. I have a feeling one of the workers are in on it, because how can u be outside all the time and not see people looking through windows of cars and hearing windows getting shattered. Pasadena restaurant depot is a little further from me but I think I might just go there instead of this place. I had thousands of dollars stolen from me and as all you restaurant owners know, that business is hard right now, with cost of goods at an all time high(pretty much double) and it's not like you can double your prices. It's not that easy and this place doesn't care if your car get broken into. I'm telling you, I believe one of the workers are in on it and get paid to not say a word.

I've been here a few times because I'm the type to give places more chances than they deserve. It's a horrible experience every time. The employees are so rude and unwilling to help. They'll send you on wild goose chases in the freezer by telling you to ask (insert name of employee that doesn't work there) for whatever it is you're asking about. The employees are always arguing and talking poorly about other employees while standing right outside of the managers office in front - they have no issues with communicating to each other but if you go up to them to ask anything they'll pretend to not see or hear you. Checkout is usually pretty upsetting as well, they'll straight up tell you you don't know what you're doing, they're very particular with how you check out, it's weird. 0 stars do not recommend.

We need another company. This people have the worse customer service. None of the employees know anything and are not willing to help. Management needs to train their employees. Lazy employees lots of areas are dirty. The health department needs to give them a visit asap. Also make sure you don't get over charged.

I've been to this location nearly a dozen times in the past month because I'm working as a chef at a camp in the Los Angeles national forest. Without the amazing superstore I'd be running around looking for food and supplies to feed 350 kids three times a day, seven days a week. So why the five stars? Yes, the location is just 30 mins away and of course they have a giant selection of food service and restaurant supplies. Yet what makes this place amazing is the customer service. I ask for help from a fork lift driver, someone stocking isles, anyone working there gives me the answers I need. One employee who has consistently gone out of her way to make my job much easier is a wonderful cashier. Super smart, fast and professional. Kim is the best thing this place has going for it. I always go to her register to get great service, a warm greeting and every time she rings me up it's just like being at home almost. This world needs more people like Kim and my advice to this place is to do have her train all the new employees on how to be a five star cashier and a five star human being! Thanks Kim, made a very long hard day of work a lot more pleasant.

It's amazing that every time I come here I have to spend more time in the line waiting for checkout than I do shopping. Terrible management. How is it that Costco Business is so fast and Restaurant depot is this incompetent.
