Grain Café Van Nuys is creative LA California cuisine/Mexican/Central American food. They will work with you to figure out particular dietary requirements/restrictions. This branch is in a space that used to be a single family dwelling, although hasn't been used that way for decades. So you still have a homey environment to eat in. It just adds to the warm experience. Recommended highly!

The food is clean and fantastic! The menu is very diverse. The service is very good and everyone is welcoming. I always stop in when I'm the area. If you haven't tried The Grain Cafe, you should!

This place is great, with amazing options and great servings. I love getting their club sandwich, their pizzas and their tuna melt! If I ever get a chance to go early enough I'll get their breakfast plates as well because they just look amazing! For me the best part about the place is easily the hot sauce they will hand you if you ask for it. They casually hand you the best hot sauce you've ever eaten in your life, and it's so amazing because it goes with ALL of their savory menu items! If you even remotely like spicy, please try the hot sauce, I feel like it's their hidden gem!

We opted for The Grain Cafe because we needed a restaurant in the Valley to get together with relatives we hadn't seen for a while, and the reviews were spectacular. Our party of five each ordered a burrito or similar except for me: I ordered the choose-your-own-ingredients bowl. Two of the orders arrived around 10 minutes later. Another five minutes, and another dish and my bowl arrived, missing the protein. I pointed this out and the server took it away, returning to say that I could not have a protein as I'd gotten dressing (clearly included with every bowl, but ok, why not give me my order and charge me accordingly?) Then the server told the fifth member of our group that his order had been lost. By the time it arrived, everyone else was finished. Two of our dinners were comped, which was a nice gesture, but overall a dismal experience. The food itself? Ok. TGC may offer the best vegan in Van Nuys, but with so many other options in LA I would not return

Nachos, really? How can you charge so much for almost no food? One little piece of avocado is not guacamole, no cheese, no sour cream, just a small drizzle of who knows what wasn't enough to tell extreme rip off. Oh, and the dragon roll, what the? It was disgusting taste like soil first and last time I will ever eat here. I do not recommend, if you don't know how to cook and lack taste buds then this place is for you, if you like Paying a lot of money for kid size servings and food that reaks, this is your place. All the reviews must be lies.

Thanks to the happy cow app I found this place when I was traveling in this area. Oh my God the food was delicious. I had huevos a la mexicana. I'll gladly give this place five stars. Service was very good too. Very friendly staff. #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2024-01-04
