Imani and staff at the blue bottle in Playa are awesome, and the same is true for the Santa Monica location. I'm a huge fan of the customer service at these locations, but this place has the most pretentious batistas. Selena is rude and lacks customer service. The Asian girl here, the one that works on Saturday, the same thing. Blue Bottle, please address this issue.

Coffee was great this morning, however croissant was stale. For a $7 pastry, I would expect it to be freshly made the same day.
Best coffee I’ve had in LA! Travelling from Sydney and I haven’t had one decent coffee until I have come to this cafe today! They don’t have soy option for milk alternatives but the oats milk coffee was good. I also tried the black cardamom latte and it was nothing I have ever tried before and was so delicious with the spices while the coffee was still strong. Banana bread was also delicious. My partner is a coffee snob and he also enjoyed the coffee here.

I use to frequent their flagship location in Hayes Valley. Their classic espresso (appropriately named Hayes Valley) is delicious. It comes paired with seltzer water. (As it should.) #

Absolutely wonderful staff. But terrible matcha lattes. It’s sweet and bitter, their matcha powder already mixed with sugar. It’s only done when the powder is bad quality (not ceremonial grade). $7.75 for 12oz hot matcha with almond milk is too much for poor quality. Even Starbucks’ matcha is better. Better remove matcha from the menu if the shop is not ready to upgrade its quality.
