Truly one of a kind restaurant. This place is an experience, and you're lucky if you get to eat here. The food is amazing. Bread and charcuterie is outstanding, the pasta blows my mind. Great wine selection. Extremely attentive service. Hard not to love everything about this place.

This is a beautiful little restaurant; the owner Parfait was a sweet host and has created a great atmosphere and designed some great dishes. This is a unique restaurant perfect for a date night. Also many great dishes for vegetarians!

Beautifully designed and decorated. The whole place was a vibe. We really enjoyed the wine and menu selection. The owner was amazing and it was a real delight to hear him speak to the customers in French. We were blown away by this place. The food was so delicious, we wanted to try everything on the menu because it looked and smelled so amazing. Definitely one of my favorite places now. Be sure to call ahead for reservations.Vegetarian options: Lists of salads to choose from and meatless meal options available.

Amazing, amazing restaurant!! Came here on a Saturday night and it was such a beautiful and delicious spot. The owner was extremely accommodating and made us feel at home. Barrel 33 is West Coast magic! Visiting Ventura from State College PA, at the top of my must do list, was a second visit to this incredible French Restaurant. Seating is limited, so you immediately feel special. Start with the over-flowing cheese board followed by a savory salad. The pasta and special sauces will not disappoint. Desert was worth the calories. It's the Owner, Monsieur Parfait, whose vibrant personality and attention to detail creates the extraordinary, exquisite, experience. Bon Appetit!

I made a reservation here to celebrate an anniversary with my GF. I called the day of, in the morning, and left a voicemail. The owner called me back within a couple hours and was able to give us accommodations. He was pleasant and professional over the phone.We were running 30mins behind our reservation time. I called and spoke to the owner and he told us no problem. We really appreciated this because it's a small venue with not too many tables.When we arrived the owner greeted us at the entrance and brought us to our table. The tables are outside in a patio area. It's decorated rustic and is a romantic setting.We started with the Fromage & Charcuterie and a bottle of Rosè and they were phenomenal. The owner (who is also a chef) brought us the board with some special cheeses and they were all delightful.For dinner we ordered the Sausage & Peppers pasta and The Barbecue Chicken pizza. Both dishes were amazing. The pasta is slightly spicy but nothing too crazy, perfect level of spice. The pizza was light and fresh.All in all I give this place 10/10 and we would definitely come back for a special occasion.

Service was impeccable and helpful, the ambiance was cozy and warm, and the food was above average. I got the sausage penne but I am not sure there was any sausage in it. I will go here again and I am thinking I will bump this up to a 5 star. Highly recommend this place though.

Parfait is the man. Running his restaurant with just a chef, you would think he had a staff of 20. He is everywhere, all at once, when it comes to putting smiles on customers faces. It was obvious Parfait had many repeat diners into Barrel 33 on my first visit there, but he took the time to make me feel like I was an old friend. Saving you from the, extremely interesting, conversation Parfait shared with our party, I will just say that speaking with the owner of this fine establishment is a true delight, the stuff memorable meals are made of. The ambiance in the outside dining space was incredible. I commented that if I could have any backyard, it would be this one. Parfait takes the meaning of his name seriously. Dining at Barrel 33 felt like perfection. The wine was excellent, and some from lesser drank regions, which I was excited to try. The cheese & charcuterie board were the best I've ever had, and I am not a stranger to wine's best friend. I could go on and say the same about the pizza, pasta, and dessert we shared, but then this would be a novel. Besides, by the time the board was replaced with plates, I was already on a cloud floating towards heaven. Surrounded by a misty haze of transcendence, the mains did not quite hit as hard as if they had been served first, but they certainly added to, and enhanced, the experience.If you're wondering if I would recommend Barrel 33: Yes, to anyone, every day that they are open.

Fantastic service and food with a very personable and professional owner. I love places where the owner is always present and whose presence makes the place feel like you are invited to a private space where you feel like an honored guest.The wine selection spans the globe with glasses and bottles that reflect a refined palate and knowledge of varietals. I chose a St Emilion that was very reasonably priced and from a vineyard that was not mass distributed.I loved finding duck pâté on the menu and delighted to see it served with toasted baguette, whole grain mustard, and a generous serving of cornichons.The thin crust pizza was much better than many places that serve pizza as their main course. Their signature Barrel 33 pizza was a pleasure for all pepperoni lovers.The Barrel 33 salad could be a meal in and of itself with a beautiful balance of ingredients that complimented each other. As a decadent dessert you can't go wrong with is the petite fantasy composed of all things chocolate served with whipped cream and strawberries. The garden patio with a fountain, lush garden, great seats, heat lamps, and warm throws was a warm beautiful space for anyone who loves a private garden.

An amazing spot. Our new favorite date night spot. The outside dinning was incredible. Heaters to keep you warm and cute blankets at each chair. The environment was amazing. The food was sooo good! The service was great! Definitely recommend!

The owner makes barrel 33 a must go! I showed up an hour before the kitchen and without a reservation (reservation is recommended since it is small in the back and make sure you ring the bell by the gate). The owner graciously allowed me to come in and sat me by a lovely waterfall. I ordered a red wine from France and a pizza. Everything felt quality and healthy. I then ordered their version of the lava cake and the owner put more whip cream and strawberries as a special treat. I wish the chocolate inside melted a little more to make it gooey but it was still decadent. It reminded me of a cold fudge brownie but it was still good. Towards the end I was the last customer finishing my meal and the owner made my day. He shared his inspiring story with me and also gave me uplifting words of wisdom for my life. Overall this experience felt like a movie and like I was transported out of Ventura. I can't wait to come back!
