I recently stopped by Foster Freeze in Ventura with my nephew and mom, excited for a classic lunch featuring burgers, fries, and of course, ice cream. However, our experience fell short of expectations, resulting in a 2 1/2 star review.Foster Freeze, once a beloved walk-up counter service establishment near Ventura College, seems to have undergone changes that impacted the overall dining experience. Gone are the tables and benches where patrons could sit and enjoy their meals, and even the small inside dining room has been closed off.To make matters worse, the cashier we encountered was rude and unhelpful. When asked about customer restrooms, which they do have, we were abruptly told they were not available for use. Additionally, when inquired about the closed dining room, the response was dismissive, stating it was simply "locked."The prices have soared to unreasonable levels, with our simple order of two burgers, a kid's hotdog, fries, and drinks totaling almost $40. Considering the lack of seating and poor customer service, this price point was unjustifiable. While the food itself wasn't terrible, it certainly didn't meet the mark of excellence. The hotdog my nephew received was disappointingly small compared to the bun, and my burger was overshadowed by an oversized bun with scanty meat. The saving grace was the fries, which were decent. Sadly, we didn't even get to sample their famed ice cream due to the absence of seating.Foster Freeze seems to rely heavily on its reputation, but our recent visit left much to be desired. It's evident that improvements are needed in areas such as customer service, pricing, and overall dining experience. As a result, I doubt I'll be returning anytime soon unless significant changes are made. Foster Freeze, it's time to step up your game and deliver the quality experience your customers deserve.

Title: Disappointing Experience at Foster Freeze in Ventura My recent visit to Foster Freeze in Ventura left much to be desired, earning it a 1 1/2 star rating in my book. I stopped by with my nephew and mom, looking forward to indulging in classic lunch fare of ice cream, fries, and burgers. Located near Ventura College, Foster Freeze is a walk-up counter service establishment. However, gone are the days of enjoying your meal at tables or benches, as they've been removed. Additionally, the little inside dining room has been closed off, leaving nowhere to sit. The cashier's attitude added to the disappointment. Rude and unhelpful, she refused restroom access despite knowing they were available. When questioned about the closed dining room, her response was dismissive, simply stating it was locked. Now, let's talk prices. They've skyrocketed to absurd levels, making the overall experience feel even more disappointing. $40 for two burgers, a kid's hotdog, fries, and drinks is excessive, especially considering the lack of seating and poor customer service. While the food itself wasn't terrible, it certainly wasn't exceptional either. My nephew's hotdog was disappointingly small compared to the bun, and my burger was lacking in meat for its oversized bun. The saving grace was the fries, which were decent. Foster Freeze seems to rely solely on its reputation to drive business, but my experience reminded me why I hadn't returned in years. It's clear they need to step up their game in terms of both food quality and customer service if they want to retain customers like myself. Unfortunately, I don't foresee myself returning anytime soon. Foster Freeze, it's time to do better.

My kids visited me from Texas! My mother-in-law took us to this iconic establishment! Reminds me of a local burger shack from my hometown. I ordered the old fashioned burger and a dipped ice cream cone! Absolutely awesome. Thank you. We really loved it.

Freshest hamburgers and they have the hand dipped cones I love.
Fosters Freeze Ventura is one of the few rare places where everything is actually good — beefy burgers, crunchy chicken sandwich, great ice cream, and more. Not only that, their customer service is really great! The lady who served us gave a small free once cream for our dog!We go here at least once a week. Man I love this place.

The food is okay. Definitely not the best corn burritos in Ventura county. B & J's diner much better in saticoy. The service is slow and the atmosphere has a lot of creepy homeless people hanging
