Under new management as Midtown Grill. The food used to be ok, but sick of all these businesses closing or getting new owners in Ventura.

I like their food and usually stop by to grab a burger or tacos. Only problem is they don't stay true to their posted hours. Out of the last 3 times I went, they were only open once. Says they close at 8pm, but I stopped by at 7pm and a girl was there cleaning but said they had closed early and couldn't serve me and my bf. Went again a couple days ago, again, 7pm. No one was there at all and the lights were off. Not sure if they're struggling to keep staff or they don't make enough $ past a certain time, but it's frustrating to drive there before 'closing' and they're already closed

Chill vibe. Outdoor and small indoor area. Vc reporter magazines available to pass the time and see what's up in the area.

Decent for quick on the go Mexican food. The vegetables seemed fresh enough, but the flavor and spices were lacking. Cool spot to pull up and grub if the seating area was better attended. Big portions, just not big enough flavor.

I had the carnitas burrito with everything and it was awesome a little expensive but what else are you going to eat in that area when corrales is closed down the street.

You know it's kind of hit and miss. I was doing my laundry across the street one day and got a taco platter that was excellent. The next time I visited the taco platter was so so and then today I got a chili colorado burrito that was quite literally tasteless.

I'll start off by saying I come here very regularly and have never had an experience as bad as last week. First of all the meat was half cooked, and the majority of the "meat" was huge pieces of fat. Basically inedible, I spent $18 and had to throw it away because of how bad it was. I said no onions, there were onions everywhere. I called, and the manager was very nice and said the next meal would be on the house and to leave her name and that a manager didn't need to be on duty. I called later that week and tried to order and explain the situation. I was told by staff that since there was no manager on duty they could not authorize the order, so I asked to be refunded which they also could not do without a manager. I have worked in the restaurant industry for a long time so I understand that kitchen mistakes are a possibility and I try to be very patient in those situations. However the girl on duty was beyond rude, she refused to offer any help, talked over me, and hung up on me repeatedly. I even asked at one point, if I could just leave a message for a manager. "I can't guarantee someone will call you and I'm busy". Needless to say I will not go back after this experience. Customer service from the lunch staff is nonexistent. Received a call back from the manager who was very kind and apologetic, which was appreciated. Might need to give them another shot.

The burrito was decent, I ordered the chille verde pork, not the most flavorful I've had but the ingredients did taste fresh. It wasn't wrapped up very well though, it started falling apart while eating it which was kinda annoying. I got the two mildest salsas (red and green) which had almost no flavor or spice at all, so maybe go for the medium or hot.The service when I was there today was not super friendly, the guy working seemed like he just didn't want to deal with customers. I get that everyone has an off day but I was already having an off day myself and didn't really appreciate the vibe.I might try this place again but might not. It's across from a decent laundromat so I might eat there again out of convenience but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here when there are so many other options in Ventura for Mexican food or burgers.

This is a dishonest business with terrible customer service. I ordered a burger and fries that should have came out to less than $10 according to their menu prices that are posted on the building, but they charged me $13. When I asked about the price they decided to charge me for a burger combo instead and it brought the total closer to what it should have been but they didn't give me the drink or make my food the way I ordered it. When I told them they made the food incorrectly the kid didn't care. I even tipped them $2 for correcting the pricing, idk what their deal was today but terrible customer service. I wish I would have read the other recent reviews so I could have stayed away from this place.

I almost gave up on this place, but one day I was stuck at the laundromat across the street and I hadn't eaten all day so I went over and noticed a new item, the Surf n Turf burrito. It is chock full of protein! The shrimps are nice and big, and I think it goes best with one of their spicier salsas. This is the only thing I order from here and I even got my aunt hooked. It is a hefty burrito too, so don't be suprised if you can't finish it. I'm a fat kid, so I will finish it even if I'm full because it so damn good! Only issue is that the shrimp is not deveined

Fresh Grill is a big disappointment starting with the rude workers and ending with the subpar food. Three times now, three, they've messed up my order. This is not rocket science. Tonight was the last straw. Got home with my takeout food and the order is all wrong (again) and one dish leaked all over the bag. Lovely. The quality of the food is nothing special. Everything has the same seasoning profile. I'm all for supporting local businesses here in Ventura, especially when it's a minute walk from my house, but I won't give this place my money anymore.

This was one of my favorite places to eat in Ventura. But, sadly, the last couple years have been awful. First, the food quality went way down. They worked on it and it has improved, but now it is the employees. I am not sure if it is just inadequate training or the old hire family thing, but service is bad. The last 3 times the cashier could not find items on the register. And the last time she way overcharged. When I pointed out the problem, she 'corrected' it and told me the new price. My fault that I did not look closely at the receipt, but I was still charged the much higher price. It is going to be very hard not to go there because I do love a couple of the items, but if I do, I will be very, very careful.

I got a taco Saad and it was gross. It tasted like chili on sandy lettuce. I tried to get rid if the lettuce and make the meat survive but it still tasted like it had sand in it. I used to eat hear all the time and I don't know what happened but..... I won't go again.
