In my top 3 sushi places in ventura (Seaward sushi, Banzai Marina, and now Koba sushi). This restaurant is a smaller place that is cozy and inviting. It's a more traditional sushi restaurant that serves the freshest sushi! The staff was very nice and friendly. The place was spotless and pleasant to be in. And the food was delicious! It is pricey bit worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants quality sushi (and sake)!

No American style rolls here. Most authentic sushi I've had in Ventura. Fresh fish. I especially enjoyed the blue crab handroll on the specials board. It's a little small inside, so there's a high possibility of having a wait.

Just wow. Hands down, the best sushi spot in Ventura and definitely in my top 3 of all time. The quality and atmosphere is right up there with Sushi Bar at a fraction of the price. It's a total hole-in-the-wall, and it's notoriously difficult to get a table; it took me and my husband 4 attempts before finally squeezing in but it was well worth the wait. They offer an affordable omakase with specials that you can't find anywhere else. While the omakase had sold out by the time we got seated, the chef still mapped out our order into "courses" so that we could enjoy each bite. Even the miso was the best I've ever had.

Real authentic sushi is nice sometimes. Most of us are used to specialty rolls with all these sauces and toppings, which I love. But sometimes it's almost an experience to have sushi, you know sushi that ONLY has fish and rice. I feel like when you experience this traditional style of sushi, you open your palate and overall your sushi experience just grows. You appreciate fish more. Definitely recommend trying this place out especially if you consider yourself a sushi-holic

I went here once, years ago.I wasn't a fan of sushi at the time, but I still dream about their teriyaki chicken I remember it was the best I've ever had, a great portion and amazing flavor. I would love go back for this but it's been so long that I'm not even sure if they still have it

The eel roll was my favorite. My husband got the shrimp roll and our waitress recommended the spicy tuna roll. All so delicious and fresh. Can't beat quality!!! Love these little restaurants, a gem

This isn’t a typical westernized sushi restaurant with fried rolls smothered in Spicy Mayo or Eel sauce, there are plenty of those nearby if that’s what you’re after. If you want to eat some fresh Nigiri as if you were strolling down an alley in Kyoto, Japan, this is the place for you. Toshi-San always gets the freshest fish and has the best Toro I have ever tasted in Ventura County. This place will make you feel as if you were in a small yet cozy Izakaya in Japan. You must give this place a try. The only downside is the hours and days of operation. It’s hard to get a seat but it’s so worth it! There’s not another sushi place I’d go to over having the privilege of eating at Koba Sushi. 10/10
