This place way overrated too expensive for the food you get French toast and four slices of bacon cost me over $20 ridiculous business and gravy. The gravy was like water ever again.

The food is awesome ? here. Went there one a couple weeks ago and really liked it. Went again with a couple of co-workers, and we all loved it. It's the real deal. Fast service, too...

Main Street Restaurant has fortunately been a local restaurant for many years. Family owned, you feel as if you're sitting down to a hearty meal made from the heart.I will say, be prepared (I was not) for the large portion sizes. I have breakfast for tomorrow now as well.

To those who rated this place a 5 star....how much did they pay you off for those reviews ? The front staff was extremely polite but didn't share with all the 'wait staff ' that one of the dispensers was out of syrup so we took a big gulp of our drink & got pure salty soda water. Not the worst mistake but sloppy communication. When our egg salad sandwich arrived what we got was 2 pieces of bread with enough mayo on each side equal to a double thick frosting for a cake and eggs not mixed in mayo but irregular slices of hard boiled egg with a piece of lettuce and tomato. That's it. We weren't expecting a gourmet presentation but traditionally the eggs are semi broken up in a light amount of mayo with herbs/seasoning etc. The cooks were just plan old lazy illustrated when we noticed the server caught their mistake of including a huge mound of cottage cheese on the plate rather than the requested onion rings. Additionally, whenever a Clubhouse sandwich is on the menu, a choice of cheese is usually offered. What we got was cheap-tasting American which only added to our disappointment. Maybe it was a bad day but the place was not packed so no room for excuses. Diner beware !! One positive we noticed....the place was very clean including all the dust free lighting fixtures. Too bad they weren't edible :/

I've seen this place on Yelp for a while, and the outside of the restaurant intimidated me. On the outside, it's one of those kinda places that could be really good, or terrible. I just gave it a shot, and really wish I would have tried it a while back. Yes, it has the old school diner feel to it, but it's very clean inside. Original decor, but preserved and polished. On to the food, I had a chili verde omelet with fruit. The verde was tender, sauce had flavor, eggs fluffy. The fruit was fresh. There's no booze on the menu, but they have a liquor menu - I wanted a Mimosa, and figured a small was a flute glass, and a jumbo was a large wine type glass... boy was I wrong! The Mimosa was massive! A great deal at $12. My waitress was nice and attentive, I think her name was Paloma (Or something along those lines), and her family owns it. Can't judge a cover from the outside, I'll be back!

This is mine and my husbands favorite breakfast spot in Ventura. The quality of the food is great and the consistency is always the same. All of our servers are so kind and everybody at the restraint works as a team. Our go to is the waffles and chili verde omelette.

Had the albondigas soup special (small bowl)French toast with fruitChilequilles (shared it)Biscuits and gravy (small)Soup was super flavorful and the other dishes were amazing.Been coming here for years. This place is always a go to spot for breakfast. Wait staff are always friendly and on top of their game. Love to support local business.Parking is a little tricky and sometimes can get packed.Parking: Sometimes can get full. Don’t let that discourage you from coming inside.

It's a good deal you just can't share your meal with your little Federal Government issued service dog they are wrong to do that but Denny's & Norms restaurants are not as Good as the food @ the main Street

Absolutely the worst service, I literally watched as the waiter's refused to take my table, even after asking for someone to take my order. I have been coming to this restaurant my entire life. I was introduced by my grandfather who was friends with the owner. When he was still working the restaurant with his older kids, this place was the best in town. Now it's just a sad shadow of the past with a new generation who couldn't care less. They weren't even ashamed they walked a table, just about laughed in my face as I took my family and left without ordering anything.

The steak chilaquiles are honestly the only reason why this place gets a 4 star. They're delicious, hands down best I've ever had. The service was not the best. While we did get seated quickly, it took a very long time to get any help with drinks or food. We honestly didn't know who our server was until we asked. I think that's my only improvement for this place.
