Bad Food! Please make some tasty food or get out of the business. Great location but much to be desired foodwise. Also had a mojito and immediately knew the server who said he made it didn't know anything aboyt bartending. Not worth it don't waste your money

Food is extremely tasty, with my favorite Grilled Cheese Service is great with friendly staff. Ambience is sweet with music from a duo called The Western Suns, who play every Sunday mornings!

Had a late lunch here while strolling through the Harbor. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather. It was during the week so it was not busy at all. Pros: It's in a beautiful setting overlooking the Ventura Harbor. It has both a patio and indoor seating. It felt clean even though the seating is outside. Prices seemed to be on par with the other restaurants around. Cons: Service: The waiter seemed ambivalent about us being there. He neither smiled nor made us feel welcome. He was not rude, but wasn't very engaging. Food: Ordered the Seafood Creole ($28) (with black beans and the rice) and chicken empanadas (3 - $13). With the creole, I expected some great flavors and some choice seafood. Creole hardly any flavor at all. I was very surprised. Shrimp was tiny as were the scallops. Calamari was very chewy. I am not expecting bay scallops or jumbo shrimp but these were definitely tiny. Beans and rice were good although generic and this is what I filled up on. Empanadas were a bit doughy. Overall, I would not go back. This was a bit of a splurge for me so I was a bit disappointed. For the price, I can go to the many other restaurants in the area and have a better meal. If they added more flavors and used a bit higher level ingredients, it would be a lot better.

Food 5/5Ambiance 5/5Service 4/5The appetizer plate was delicious! My mojito had a good amount of mint . The staff was nice , I've read mixed reviews on the staff - I came when it was slow . This is actually one my my favorite places at the harbor to get food . If you want Cuban food in county then definitely check them out

2.5 star would be more accurate rating - totally meh, nothing bad to warrant low 1 star, but unimpressive overall. These restaurants at the Harbor offer wonderful seating views outside, great ambience for pleasant dining experience. It was the food that was so tasteless and generally unseasoned. We ordered empanadas- the filling tasted good, but the crust seemed overly doughy. 3 small squares are $13. Seafood creole was really meh- the seafood was small bay scallops, calamari rings and some smaller shrimps seemed like the frozen seafood packs can get from good grocery stores. So they were fine for making this dish at home, but unimpressive for a restaurant dish that is almost $30. Again it was lacking any real depth of flavors. The saffron rice was dry, if the creole sauce was able to saturate some of it, it was fairly decent. So come for the ambience, harbor view location, BUT this is not noteworthy food for the prices. They are not the only Harbor restaurant that has underwhelming food because they know that people will still come for the harbor views. Our service was also serviceable/ fine but definitely not friendly or welcoming.

Food is delish. Never thought I'd be impressed with a grilled cheese, but the caprese blew me away! Recommend anything off the Cuban menu, too. 3 stars for atmosphere because the patio tables could use a little work. Inside is dark and not very inviting, but the food is so good I look the other way. One of the servers is a superstar. The others, not so much. Again, we go for the food.

Great place to enjoy a nice evening. They always have a live band on weekends and it is a great vibe. The service is horrific takes for ever to get your drinks and food. Servers look like they hate life. They need to practice their Ps and Qs with their clients and smile more often.
