Chef Boyardee could make better indian food. Rich colors are dead giveaway of food coloring in meals? I don't know but tasted lifeless and gentrifiied. The red#40?? chicken curry had good consistency but flavor was flat in comparison to other authentic Indian food I have had. Palak Paneer tasted like powdered milk was used, Not even sure how they got that flavor. All in all, not an appealing meal AND immediately afterwards my wife and I felt nauseated?! That was a new one for me so felt compelled to write this review. I invite the owner to start from scratch and we'll give a goog review redemption??
The food is delicious. Cafe India is a favorite of mine in Downtown Visalia. The garlic naan is great, the rice is so fluffy and the Chicken Tikka is so good. Our server was very attentive and provided great service. I have a shellfish allergy, our server alerted the kitchen and ensured that my order did not get cross-contamination.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. We were staying at Visalia on way to Sequoia Natl park. We ordered Veg Biryani and Butter Nan from Cafe India. Gosh, this is the WORST Indian food that I have ever tasted in my whole life. Veg biryani looked like plain rice with some masala sprinkled over it. Butter naan too was not cooked well and I could still taste raw dough. I had to throw the food in trash and ordered Pizza for my family.Check reviews from other Desi folks for yourself before you place order. PATHETIC. And their customer service is equally worse.

Garlic naan and spicy garlic naan are both delicious. The lamb was outstanding, the butter chicken was creamy and flavorful, the vegetable biryani was great to eat with the gravy. Definitely try their tamarind old fashioned!

Another local gem! Very clean, updated interior. The sever greeted me quickly and the food came right away. The chicken vindaloo was sweet, spicy, hearty on top of the beautifully cooked basmati rice. The garlic naan was amazing. Definitely recommend this place! And the price is so nice as well.

I was excited to try after a friend recommended this place. They accidentally charged me for the large party they had instead of my take out order. Three employees walked up to check at register or to assist with refund.. I couldn't help but notice everyone working in this restaurant including the guy that looked like a manager/cook were all Caucasian. Not a bad thing but not what I was hoping and expecting for an authentic Indian cuisine experience.I was then refunded and recharged. However my bank charged me an insufficient fund fee of $30 because I had to wait days for my refund. No discount or apology was offered. Transactional experience. Yeah, so it's like I had to wait all of that extra time for them to "fix" it but it really cost me more to eat there. Will probably wait another 9-12 months to try again or check out the new place on main or something in Fresno or LA.

This has got to be the best Indian restaurant in California. I grew up in Scotland which has a high Indian population and always LOVED Indian food over there. Since I moved here Indian food is not the same, and I wouldn't count it as one of my favorite foods in California... except for here!! Granted, I haven't tried every Indian restaurant in California, but of the ones I've tried, this food tastes the most authentic (and tastes the best!!) Their spice levels that you request are true to their name, and generally just an incredible chance find for me! Love this food!!

We tried Veggie kurma apparently its Navaratan kurma and surprisingly it was mild, flavorful and had kajus in it. Dal makhani wasn't that great we felt it had too much garam masala.

They did a delivery for me today and since the beginning of calling to find out about delivery for one of my account to the final delivery, Marie P who is the manager of the restaurant ensured everything goes smoothly and the food is delivered on time .
