FINALLY some truly delicious Indian food in Visalia! The tandoori chicken is juicy and the salmon is some of the best fish I've eaten. Thick, flavorful sauces. "Medium" spicy was just right for my family - a good zing without any pain. Really wonderful, unique cocktails. And friendly, personable staff. Look no further.

I had the chicken Tikka masala at this restaurant, but I did not enjoy it. The sauce was too creamy and all I could taste was the cream. It tasted like a mix of Trader Joe's creamy tomato soup and garam masala, and the portion was very small. I paid $33 plus tip for four items, which were sold separately: chicken, rice, roti, and chai tea. The rice was okay, but the roti was chewy, like when bread gets stale. The chai tea was also flavorless and small. Although the place looked great and had good reviews, I was disappointed in the dish. However, the customer service was excellent, so most of my stars are due to this. I placed my order to go.

Arriving at 6:20 PM on a Saturday, the restaurant was relatively quiet, with only one table occupied by six people and three tables with two people each. Despite our eagerness to eat, our order for two entrees and a bread basket was met with a wait until 7:08 PM for our food to arrive—42 minutes later, without any explanation or apology from the staff. While the atmosphere was enjoyable, the lengthy wait was disappointing. Although the food was decent, I would only recommend this place if you have plenty of time to spare.

We came in at 6:20 PM on a Saturday. It wasn't busy (one table with 6 ppl, the other three with 2 ppl). Placed our order (2 entree 1 bread basket) fairly quickly cause we were starving. We got our food at 7:08 PM because there was a "big table (that 6 ppl table)" in front of us. The gentleman next table even went to Target to get microwave food and when he was back, their food wasn't ready yet.Apparently this is a restaurant that can't handle less than 1/4 of their capacity on a Saturday evening. Tandoori was bland. Waiters and waitress are nice though.

I recently visited Hungry Elephant Bar & Grill in downtown Visalia and was thoroughly impressed with the dining experience. This Indian restaurant truly stands out with its flavorful and perfectly spiced dishes that tantalize the taste buds. The Paneer Tikka Masala was the star of the meal – the paneer was soft and succulent, bathed in a rich, creamy tomato sauce that had just the right level of spice. The Garlic Naan was another delight, fresh out of the oven, with a perfect balance of buttery and garlicky flavors that complemented the masala wonderfully.I also tried the Veg Samosa Chaat, which was a revelation in itself. The combination of crispy samosas, tangy chutneys, and fresh yoghurt created a symphony of flavors that was both refreshing and satisfying. Accompanied by a side of aromatic rice, the entire meal was a culinary journey through the heart of India. Not only was the food exceptional, but the ambiance of the restaurant and the attentiveness of the staff also contributed to a fantastic dining experience. Hungry Elephant Bar & Grill is a gem in Visalia for anyone looking to indulge in authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu!

Went here for my daughter's birthday. It was her choice. to go here. I was hesitant, not thinking that I liked Indian food. Funny but when my daughter was younger she was very finicky about the food she would eat.NOW, she's culturing me! & I'm glad. I need to be more adventurous, expanding my pallet. I'm glad we visited. The food was very good, the service was friendly & accommodating. If you're in Visalia, I recommend trying it. I'm glad I did. And found out that Indian food is pretty good! Also bringing us all a comped dessert to celebrate the birthday was the 5th star!

Very pleased--our first visit, it won't be our last. The veg samosa chaat appetizer was wonderful--a brilliant twist on samosa. Lamb vindaloo was very tasty, chicken tikka masala was good, and the garlic naan was the best. Don't hesitate--go there now!

Outstanding dining experience! This restaurant stands out as one of the finest Indian eateries we've had the pleasure of visiting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic flavors. Our meal choices, including garlic naan, shahi paneer, kadai paneer, and rice, were all exceptional. They offer a wide variety of vegetarian options, all of which reheated wonderfully for leftovers. Don't miss out on this culinary gem!
