I thought this was the same company as the one off Carlsbad Village Dr. I guess not, the pastries are not as good as they used to be. I feel like they are skimping on butter and just getting a bit sloppy. The croissant dough is not flakey and golden and this is what is used in a large amount of pastries. The creme brûlée was not the best either. I feel like vanilla beans were not used and extract was used instead. Lower amounts of creme for the custard. Small things that some would not recognize but that seperate a good French bakery from a bad one. I give the food a 3/5 but the service is terrible and really causes harm to the overall experience . I gave this place a few try's lately and Every-time I feel like I need to really go out of my way to be extra friendly just to get service. Like im burdening the young girl behind the counter just by arriving. I Have to always ask for napkins, fork, etc., and its like the biggest task to turn around and get a plastic fork. If someone buys something to eat maybe ask them if they would like a utensil to eat it with.It used to be good here and While anyone can surely bake french pastries that is trained, It can be easy to unknowingly incorporate different baking techniques into the food. Just something to keep in mind in making the pastries better here. Stick to French technique only. I hope to change the rating soon. I know you probably put alot of hard work into things and I really would love to give you 5 stars. I will give it a few more trys and hopefully will see improvements.

I got a dirty chai that is unpictured, but tasty! I asked for Sriracha, but they didn't have it so they offered those delicious fresh, grilled Jalapeños and Tapatío. So good!

Decent pastries and fairly tasty with good variety but very poor service & atmosphere.My family and I arrived at 5pm (2 hours before closing) at this place; no customers inside and 80% of chairs and tables were stored/folded giving you the impression that store is closed…Next, we made our order; without being asked whether we would want to have the pastries inside or for to go, they made the assumption that’s for to go, which wasn’t.Next, I had to ask for plates, forks, knives,… they only had 2 plates left! With one having a yellow stain on it. Disposable knives and forks and not the same color (one black and one white). No napkins anywhere either and I had to ask again.This place could be a 4 start but due to above mentioned issues, it gets my 2 star rating overall.

Love the local bakery cakes here. Delicious strawberries and amazing care to attention on what makes their cakes pop. The other desserts are also loved from the simple cheesecakes to the creme brulee and fruit tarts. Nothing beats this
