As of April 2024, Rumors that the Vista store is going out of business is non existent! Daughter of owners just opened a store in San Diego down town area. I have a friend who drives from LaJolla to Vista for their chocolate & peanut butter malt.This is a very cool family restaurant thats been in business for 40 years. Very, very reasonable prices! Hot food or any kind of icecream, malts, banana splits... their menu is HUGE!

Peppertree is the place my late dad would take me and my siblings after a long day at the beach. This is one of the few places I can go that is still as good as when he was alive. He’d always get the peanut butter shake, and naturally, that’s my favorite too. Thanks Peppertree for the childhood memories!

I ordered my drink then a young boy ordered after me a few minutes later a drink popped out of the window and they didn't say what drink it was and the young boy grabbed the drink and a minute later another drink popped out and it was some fruit drink I didn't order the boy came back and said he was sorry for grabbing it and asked what to do with the drink I told him to give it back the girl inside cuz he already drank some than the young man working there put it in the blender rod mixed it and gave it back to me as he was doing so the young lady that served me before started laughing so I asked the young man if he is giving my the same drink at first he was avoiding my question after asking a few times he said no and that was a lie as soon as it went in one window to the blender and out the other window. very disgusting I did not drink it it went in the trash

A great old time ice cream shack. Lots of flavors and combinations. I have that chocolate and bananas shake and I thought it was great. Prices are good and it is crowded. So be prepared for it to take awhile to get service. Highly recommended.

The service is amazing! I ordered a corn dog dipped in chocolate coating and covered in sprinkles… and they did just that, no questions asked. I happily enjoyed my chocolate dipped corn dog while little kids looked at me funny.Take that Dairy Queen! Yes, it CAN be done. Thank you Peppertree for indulging my curiosity and long-term quest.Kid-friendliness: Kids love the place! The place is always crawling with them.
