I have recently moved to the neighborhood and tried out TruPhilly. Four of us had takeout lunch and the unanimous review was “never again”. The Philly cheesesteaks were lousy and did not resemble anything I’ve had in Philly. For that matter, most restaurants make a better cheesesteak than TruPhilly. We will not be

My wife and I first tried out this place about 2 months prior to this review. The food, service, and fair prices made me come back and bring a friend. Salad: crisp, fresh produce like straight out of the garden. Sandwiches: hand-prepped, perfectly cooked and seasoned beef & lamb; perfectly baked sandwich rolls; peppers and onions perfectly finished. Baklava: super flaky with perfect sweet. This should not be confused with fast food. It is hand-cooked perfection. Staff obviously take pride in their work, so the service was great. Hmmmm...should I come back? YA THINK?

Cheesreak was plain and unexciting. Not even seasoned. $15.00 for a fast food sandwich is a lot.

I'm from Philly and always in search of the best cheesesteak. This didn't make it into my top 3 in North County. I was the only one in the place at lunchtime. Ordered a plain cheesesteak (no onions). As the lone employee begins to cook my steak, people came in. He stopped cooking my steak to take their order eventually returning to the grill. By the time he got back to my steak it had dried out. No juice (or grease). It lacked flavor, was lite on meat and cheese. The roll was soft and fresh but...not Philly. It was a good steak, but if your name is going to be "TruPhilly Steaks", you've got to put more Philly into it.

I have 2 daughters who absolutely love this place. I do, too. Philly cheese steak with cheese whiz. Make sure to ask for extra whiz. It's delicious. What 6 year old eats onions and mushrooms and loves it, mine. My nine year old daughter ate almost the entire 12 wings by herself with fries and carrots. Good thing I didn't order 18. Try getting that amount of wings at Wingstop for an affordable price. You can't. Very reasonable. I like the atmosphere. They have much much more than cheese steak. Baklava. Yes. Cheese empenada. Yes. Go get some. And you can have a beer while your food is getting made.

They have an annoying show off cook, loud and uncomfortable, eating while cooking my order. I asked for tap water but instead needed to buy a soda after he gave me the water with food still in his mouth. Not sure if this is sanitary practice, kind of skeptic of this place now, food was okay at best, debating if I'll go back, to be determined.

I normally don't review, but this place is amazing! Overall, my experience at this Philly cheesesteak restaurant was truly exceptional. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the Caribbean chef added an extra layer of excitement and flavor to the entire dining experience. The addition of the bar has truly elevated this restaurant to new heights. It's the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal and indulge in expertly crafted cocktails. Whether you're a cocktail enthusiast or simply looking to enhance your dining experience, this restaurant's new bar is a must-visit.

Okay I had to take my pup to the vet and while he went back with the The doctor I decided to grab a bite to eat. I needed to stay close by so I'd be ready and there were two places right by the vet's office. When was the boba tea place and the other was Truphillys. I ran into someone that works in the strip mall. Asked her if she could tell me about both of the places and she had great things to say about both but she did let me know that true Philly had a new chef and had dropped off some tapas that were great and then she was going to come back and get the burger. So I decided after looking at their menu to go ahead and get the burger it had an amazing flavor it seems like today some people are afraid to actually season food. The fries were lightly seasoned and better than a lot of fries have had at some chain restaurants. The gal that was working the register was super friendly and helpful and the chef was very helpful as well. The burger was so big I had to ask for a knife so I could cut it in half. I can't wait to try other things from their menu on our next vet visit!
