“I have stopped in randomly over the past 8 years and it never disappoints. The people are fun, attentive, and ask questions to help give you the best suggestions. And at least in my experience, they are right every single time. Or all the flavors are delicious. There is always something new and different and worth trying. I wish I could remember all the previous flavors, so I could mention them but I can’t so I’ll just comment on the most recent 2 that I took home - Peach (if you like strawberry ice cream and you like peaches and think that might be just as good in ice cream, you’re right, it really is, and they knew it and did it better than anyone else) and then there is Fluffanella. They had me at ‘marshmallow base’. That’s where I stopped listening and said ‘yes please’. Fair warning, it might set a future standard for ice cream.”

“Family visits here often. When I come to visit we always stop here. Food and service is great. Price reasonable. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Everyone has a different dish and all very good. 2 & 3 year olds ate a little of everyones.”

“This is my first time eating here. I enjoyed the atmosphere, if I had more time we would have done the axe throwing, that looked like a lot of fun! Alex brought me on a tour of the vineyards, showing the differences in the grape clusters of the different varieties. The couple also has homemade seasonal food choices that pair with their wines as well as satisfy your hunger. Their large AIR CONDITIONED tasting room has large, comfortable tables. The views are great, the visitors are friendly. This is definitely worth a stop.”

“I had this a few days ago on a whim. I had seen the truck before but was always too late to get any before they closed. I got the beef tacos and carne asada fries. OMG. I could barely make it home, they smelled so good. I didn't even get the chance to eat it by myself because my family was all over the bag. It was absolutely delicious. To my knowledge there is no other authentic food like this in Amador county including the place across the street, which is terrible: Next time I go to this food truck I am not sharing. Quick service, great food.”

“Best sandwiches in Jackson. I'm a fan of the Italian Sub, but everything is good including the meatball sub and chicken salad on a croissant. They also provide catering services which I've enjoyed at a special event. Like many shops on Main Street the interior is decorated with historic photos which are fun to see.”

“We've been excited to visit this relatively new place for months. Pioneer is only a 10 minute drive up the mountain (North on Hwy CA88 from Pune Grove). Impressed from the moment we pulled into a recently renovated campus consisting of a motel & the restaurant. Clean and fresh were my first thoughts as my grandson & I parked comfortably in the front. Upon entering, "Dining" was our destination as we proceeded forward, passing a sign for "Bar" to our right. It was a Friday late afternoon, and the festive yet contolled libation was underway as the end of the week celebrating was underway. Happiness surrounded us as we proceeded down the hallway to our dining destination. We were there for a late lunch, knowing we missed the busy time hours before. Greeted pleasantly and seated right away to dig into the menu that had many appetizing and familiar names. We kept it simple... we were there for "fries and milkshakes." These were our go-to when rating grandson approval destinations. Unfortunately, our host informed us right away that "shakes" were part of their future plans but not available at this time. No problem, my grandson reviewed his kids' menu, I the adults', Fish 'n Chips were chosen by both of us. Huge portions were served to us rapidly, and we indulged our time in glee; outstanding food. Our service was friendly, informed us well with answers to our questions, and shared in neighborly conversation that reminds us why we like this area so much.The atmosphere was clean, beautiful, and inviting. There's a newness to our surroundings with an obvious attention to detail. Great view of a meadow surrounded by a Pine tree Forrest. Again, it seemed fresh and peaceful, gazing out the windows anticipating the 4 seasons of change. We talked about returning and bringing the family with us; the breakfast menu looked intriguing! Prices were average, maybe on the high side, but isn't everything these dates.Kid-friendliness: The kids' menu had large portions :)Wheelchair accessibility: Yes and easy to navigate throughout”
