One of the best Persian restaurants in Walnut Creek. They have many tables. Good choice for families.Their menu was big and varied.Prices are acceptable.Service was excellent. The food was delicious except the Caesar salad.

After giving this restaurant five tries, we've been consistently let down by both the mediocre food and the frankly horrendous service. Each time, they've told us their tandoor oven isn't working, leading to us getting unappetizing bread. Despite our large group's hunger and a long wait for our meals, they barely provided enough bread, even though we asked repeatedly.Upon arrival, we were ignored for the first 15 minutes. Trying to order, we were suggested to either order at the front or wait for everyone to arrive, which felt unwelcoming. Moreover, it took 40 minutes before we were served any water. When we requested more bread, we were informed they had run out, which seemed implausible during a slow period. The dessert, meant to be a treat, tasted old and as if it had been sitting out too long. It appeared they were relying on frozen desserts and overcharging for them. The mediocre quality of the food is further marred by the service. The servers exhibit a lot of attitude, rolling their eyes and never smiling. Requests for water or tea were met with grunts of annoyance, as if it were a burden to serve us. Despite a 20% service charge for large groups, our server was scarcely seen, and we found ourselves having to get up and ask for everything. After so many chances, we've decided not to return. We're willing to travel further for a place where both the service and food meet our expectations, and where the staff treats customers with the respect and courtesy they deserve.

I cannot believe that this place is underestimated. It definitely deserves 5 stars.I got the Alborz plate that is enough for two people. It comes with 3 different skewers and 2 saffron rice. The dish was absolutely super great.I got the Cesar salad, and it was below average. More cheese and sauce should be added.I tried the Turkish coffee, and it was just like the coffee I got from Turkey; super good and super strong. Also, I got a fresh pomegranate and it was good. The place’s vibes are so good. They have internal and external tables. For sure, I am going to visit them again.

This is one of the worst Persian restaurants in the Bay area. We moved to the bay area from Toronto and are very disappointed with what we see here which is low quality food and service at Persian restaurants. Alborz was no exception. The staff would not listen to you. They keep walking when asking questions. The replace Zaffron with excessive amount of food coloring which is just awful. This restaurant is just a mess. It is so sad.

In a Nutshell: Brilliant food, but the service? A complete nightmare!I recently tried the Alborz Restaurant, enticed yet cautious due to its polarizing reviews. Joined by a couple of my friends, we started off our night with Ash and Tahdig with stew. Let me tell you, the blend of crispy rice and Gheymeh was nothing short of spectacular! For the main dish, we had Ghormeh Sabzi, a Lamb Shank, and I opted for a custom mixed platter – Barg and Cornish Hens. As the photos clearly show, these dishes weren’t just good-looking; they were bloody delicious. Wrapping up with Persian Tea, I was nearly transported back to home – a genuine, heartfelt touch. But then, disaster struck at the finish line – the bill. I had requested a swap in my mixed platter, which the waiter confirmed without a whisper about extra charges. Imagine my shock when the bill showed charges for two separate dishes! I politely pointed this out to one of the hosts, expecting a quick fix. Instead, what I got was rudeness personified! Not only did she refuse to correct their blunder, but she also had the gall to verify my story with the waiter. I eventually could convince her to fix the bill but it was appalling! I believe her name was Naseem as it was mentioned in the bill! This fiasco left a bitter taste in our mouths. Also, it’s a real shame – the team works their socks off, and one individual’s lack of professionalism can ruin it all. It’s crystal clear why this gem was deserted at prime dinner time.To the management: Wake up! You're hemorrhaging money and risking your brilliant team for someone who clearly hasn't got the first clue about the essence of hospitality. And if she is part of the management team, for the sake of her business and success of her team, she should remove herself from that position! My advice to potential diners? Steer clear of this establishment unless you’re certain that this particular host is nowhere in sight – better yet, make sure she’s on vacation, permanently!"

Everything about this place was good. The food, the kabob, all was good. I enjoyed my filet of lamb.

I feel like I'm living in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. To be fair, the food is top notch, and most of the servers were polite and did their job respectfully. To the cooks and the servers that provided the great experience, I commend you, and this small tip was for you. Sorry, it would have been more, but this experience ended with an exceptionally bad taste. This was to be a 5-star review up until one server absolutely trashed and tarnished things.Without too many details, one server was quite disrespectful and giving attitude and the end of the meal. On top of that, after asking me if I wanted a box, she looked at me with the most snarky look and instead handed it to my friend. Who the hell does that on an initial interaction? I appreciated everything about this restaurant until that happened. On top of the initial disrespect, the check came and we had a duplicate charge for a meal on the bill which she rudely disputed with one of my friends. After an argument that involved pulling our actual server into the drama, she finally pulled the charge off the bill and fixed the wrong. On top of that, the experience was ruined for the other friend who we were introducing to Persian cuisine. Turns out, she's a repeat offender of treating customers terribly based on the reviews from other patrons. We refuse to return to this restaurant unless this employee is on vacation, and we hope she goes on vacation indefinitely. I am sorry for the people who have to work with her. Obviously, this employee doesn't know a dammed thing about being in the restaurant business and it shows from the near empty dining room that could have been full of the patrons she burned bridges with. Treat all your customers with respect. This is an absolute embarrassment.Hell, if the cooks and the good staff left to start their own restaurant, I'd happily support their endeavor 100%.

One of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen. So many great paintings and grand furniture, but there was a lot of creeping on the roof, which unsettled are family a bit. Fillet Mignon was tender and tasty, chicken was flavorful, ground steak was tasty, and rice was addictive. The bread is really hit or miss. Sometimes it's perfectly cooked, and sometimes it is charred and so crispy it hurts your teeth. Overall, nice flavors and would go again!

Thank you Naseem for the great service. Food was delicious! We had the Baked chicken with Zereshk Polo and the Cornish Hen. The baked chicken was super tender, fall off the bone and flavorful. The Cornish hen was charbroiled to perfection - had a great smoky flavor and was also super tender!

I have no idea what these low ratings are for because Alborz has some of the best Persian food in the Bay area hands down. The Koobideh, chicken and fillet are amazingly juicy and delicious. The rice is always good. Their salads are fresh and they bring you a fresh baked bread with herbs, onions and butter complimentary.I tried the Ghormeh Sabzi with lamb shank and it was amazing. The service has always been top notch. I will continue to go to Alborz and wnjoy their food.
