This review is for the sales department. They do a great job of deterring you to sign up. Their sales manager (Courtney) doesn't belong in customer service. She's rude and she does a really poor job of representing the company. I've spoken with other employees from there who've told me that that's an ongoing complaint from members. I've worked with one of the reps in the past when it was LSI and it wasn't as bad. I felt like he truly cared about getting me set up with the right membership and I wasn't just another number. It's really a shame because this gym was awesome to be part of while I was a member. A lot of the employees (trainers, nutritionist and front desk) were really friendly) but they need a sales department that cares about new members and rejoining members experience.

The BLT by the pool is out of this world!! I wish I had a picture to show, but it was gone before I knew it. Thick slices of bacon, bread toasted to perfection. Lordt! Can't wait to go back!! Get 2. You won't regret it.

I had to cancel my membership during the pandemic. Not only was my phone call returned in a timely way, but they made it easy and verbalized understanding during this time. I cannot say that I've had this experience at other gyms. For this very reason, they will have my business again in the future.

I cancelled my membership for several reasons, all COVID related. This review was for amenities before covid, the staffs efforts to make the best of a bad situation, and their desire to work with me when I ultimately asked to terminate. I hope one day gyms can operate the way they were. I've accepted that that time won't be coming anytime soon.

My family and I have been members since Club Sport opened and we absolutely love this place. The club offers a state of the art gym, basketball courts, group classes, personal training, a pool with an outdoor bar, spa, restaurant, and countless other amenities including child care. The employees are extremely friendly and always make sure to make you feel welcome. The spa offers phenomenal facials, massages, etc. During the summer you can rent cabanas and they serve drinks and food to you in the pool area. Robert (a manager) always takes great care of us and makes us feel like we are at home. We love the chimichurri steak and strawberry cornbread (seasonal) dessert. I would highly recommend joining the club!

Overall the gym is pretty awesome. My kids and I love it, we usually go 15 times a month and we use it for workouts, family pool time, and childcare. My wife for some reason has not embraced the club like we have, she only goes 3 or 4 times a month but now she's coming around and starting to miss it like crazy.

I love this gym!! It is ALWAYS clean, I love that I always see the staff cleaning the equipment or locker room. I am a new member and I can say the price ( some people may consider it expensive) is totally worth it, you can't beat the amenities! I love the classes, Zumba and high fitness are my favorites. I love that there is always parking. I started weight training with my husband and have found that the machines are always available. I'm looking forward to using the pool when the weather gets nice. The only thing I would change is having the kids area be a little more inviting, I think its too dark and I don't like how many halls/ rooms there are.. it's a bit too eerie for me.

Just read Bay Club's membership payment options--regarding, club membership during this Corona Outbreak.And---- I think it is in poor taste for Bay club to make options, asking it's members to contribute a portion of their membership dues-to cover the salaries/health benefits of Bay Club employees. I have never heard of such a thing. You would think since Bay Club is (supposedly) an up-scale gym they already offer competitive salaries, and substantial health benefits. Yes, I know-this pandemic came out of no-wear. But panhandling off their members to cover employee costs ...really!? It just looks really bad. It seems like Bay Club doesn't want to take the initiative to use their own revenue to take care of their employees. Instead, they want their own members-who don't have access to the gym-and also have their own families to feed as well-to"fort a portion of the bill"---for the betterment of THEIR employees. If Bay club wants to ask for help-fine! Ask for donations! But keep it separate from our account memberships! It's really disturbing to be offered 3 options regarding membership, and then read a "heartfelt" statement/request/option (whatever you want to call it)to use a a portion of our dues to go toward their employee salaries. DON'T TUG AT OUR HEARTSTRINGS UNNECESSARILY, BY USING THIS PANDEMIC TO YOUR ADVANTAGE! The memo basically sounded like a info-commercial to be perfectly honest! Anyway, until Bay Club opens again, all member's accounts should be placed on hold, 0$ dues-period! No questions or options asked. It's the right thing to do.

The Bay club is not just a health club or gym. It is a mind body and spirit experience. Being a member for over 17 years, I can say that though the cost is pricey. It is worth every penny considering The benefits. Once you experience it for any length of time, you just cannot go back to any other gym. It would be like living on incredibly prepared five-star cuisine, and then having to return to fast food. The amenities are unbelievable. The outdoor pool is amazing, lined with palm trees and I filled with water that is like swimming in mineral water. They use a state of the art laser filtration system. I swim without my goggles for half a mile sometimes when I forget my goggles at home, and my eyes don't even burn. You cannot taste any chemicals or chlorine. The steam bath is incredible. The locker room has flat screen TVs, leather benches, push button combination lockers, huge high-quality cotton towels, hairspray, deodorant, Q-tips, blow dryers, granite top sinks, combs soaked in alcohol. The showers not only have body wash, but are complete with shampoo and conditioner. There are four workout rooms for exercise classes, spin cycle, yoga, from the break of dawn till late evening going day and night with incredible instructors etc. They even have punching bags which is unheard of compared to local competitors. They have private parking. And no matter what I leave in the locker or leave in my car I always feel safe. The members feel safe and are stand up members of our community. I just hope and pray they reopen soon given what's happening with this coronavirus situation!

In town for biz and staying at the hotel that is connected to this gym. Yep! Best hotel ever if you like to workout. There is a ton of cardio equipment here. I'd love a ton of weights instead. There is plenty, but the space to lift is a bit small in comparison to the cardio. There are group classes available, but I didn't try them. Fancy locker room, but I'm staying in the hotel so I just went to my room to shower.

I've been a member of this club for over 7 years and several years before that wheN I lived in Walnut Creek a time before that. Now that Bay Club took it over they've jacked up the prices astronomically! In one year I had a $50 jump and my single membership is now $190. Because I mostly exercise outdoors, I just can't justify that cost esp as service and cleanliness have gone down. I was there last week and heard many members complaining of the price increases and some just like me said they're quitting. they waste $ like on free coffee which is very dehydrating! And things like sliding glass doors when the previous doors were fine. They've also seriously degraded the restaurant! Menu lame now used to be great. I went last week and in past it was Packed now almost no one. Sad because it used to be a great place with a family like atmosphere but now they just wanna pump $ even long term members out of their cash!

After 18 years as a member at first Club Sport now Bay Club I'm throwing in the towel. Pricing has gone up exponentially. Though I will miss the classes of Ann, Ellen,Tiffany - I'm tapping out at 190/month for ONE person! This is inflated pricing and in my opinion not worth the cost (even if I had cash to burn). I'm sad and disappointed - going to this gym has been a large chunk of my life here in the East Bay. Not so much for the facility but for the memories of bringing kids, grabbing a quick coffee with my friends and getting to know the instructors. It's the end of an era

Keep in mind the reviews you are seeing are often for the old ClubSport. My experience with Bay Club has been really lacking and I know others who have also dropped their membership and gone elsewhere. I was a member there for about 5 years. First off Bay Club took over and did a rate increase. For the past year there has been constant construction and the inconveniences that go with that (and there has been a lot). Now they are about to raise rates again in Jan 2020. Really? That is how you treat your clientele? The club is not as well kept as it used to be. There is often random equipment and dirty towels just sitting around. The lockers were broken for a long time and it just seems they no longer pay attention to the details. They even schedule too many classes at the same time so the parking lot is full and there are no other options. When you are paying them as much as you are you expect them to be aware of those things. To top it off when I told them I was thinking of leaving and shared my complaints I got canned emails and not a single explanation or apology for all of the inconveniences. Just a sorry to see you go email. Haven't they taken a business course about how it is much cheaper to keep your clients rather than go look for new ones???!!! There was no personal touch. I might as well of been dealing with a robot.

During the past 6 months, the gym and personnel have significantly deteriorated. The facility used to be maintained in pristine condition, but It is not kept as clean- machines are littered with debris and bathrooms are out of paper products often. Personnel are rude and dismissive to members at the front desk and in the cardio/weight room.

I have been a member of the Renaissance Club Sport for over 20 years...sadly, now that Bay Club took over the facilities are dirty...personnel not very friendly and the fees just keep going up...heard there will be a 12% hike next year! Saturday mornings there is no water station until at least 7am (the club opens at 6am), which is completely unacceptable....staff is vacuuming during our workouts...yet the floors are filthy... Machines are even dirtier..don't think staff ever cleans them! You can be the 1st on a machine in the am and machines have used wipes in the water holders...which tells you know one pays attention to them at the closing...I swim several times a week and the pool is the saving grace...although in the summers it can be quite dirty and cloudy.... Really miss the old staff...Bright spot...the trainers are excellent!
