This restaurant has got it right! I was surprised to hear that they were opened pre-pandemic. A lot of the restaurants operating now that were pre-pandemic are not so great. Anyways, let's get right into to it. They get an automatic 5 from me. Mediterranean is not my favorite cuisine. I like it, but not my favorite. I'm a believer now. This place was AMAZING! Ease of Reservation: 5 Cleanliness of restaurant:5+ (this includes the bathrooms, behind the bar, grill area and parts of the kitchen I could see.) Food: 5+. We had the short rib hash, the Lokanta and lamb Kabob. It was just simply amazing. The bread they bring prior easily puts any restaurant to absolute SHAME! Lamb Kabob was tender and juicy. Short rib hash was tender and juicy with great flavor. It came with two eggs over and fruit. The Lokanta came with a spinokopita, apple sausage, eggs and potatoes + fruit. Everything was amazing! Servers: 10+. Kept our bottomless coming and they were very attentive. I noticed they were paying attention to food +water+drink ratio, so people wouldn't get too drunk. Very good! Everyone was cross-trained so there is no lag in service. Our server knew how to mix drinks and so did most of the servers. It was really delightful to see the harmony in the staff. I have NOTHING bad to say about these folks! This is one of the best experiences I have had post lockdown. If they keep up like this, they have gained a life long customer. I wish I had known about them pre-pandemic. I absolutely would have supported them throughout. Great job Lokanta!

Customer service was fabulous, timing of food was great. Expectations of food vs what is described on the menu, pretty terrible. Price? Expensive and not worth the quality. Also, don't you hate it when you know how to cook and the staff makes it look like you don't know what the hell you are talking about? We all know when we roast veggies, the natural sugars are released and caramelize the veggies we are roasting, right? They have a wilted, charred look to them and they are somewhat sweet and chewy. Well, I ordered the roasted beet salad for a reason. I love beets and I love roasted veggies on my salad, especially root vegetables. When my salad arrives, the carrots are roasted as they are wilted, slightly charred, slightly chewy (as the water is evaporated out) and delicious. The beets, are big chunks, water logged, tasted briny and slightly salty. Yep, you guessed it, canned beets in water. I said the beets looked as if they were canned and not roasted. When I asked if the beets were roasted, the server said he asked the sous chef and he said they were boiled first before they were roasted. Uhm, no, they were not. *smh*, I said, that is probably what they have done before, but my beets were fresh out of a can. They offered nothing but more bread/oil. *shrug&

We went back to Lokanta on Friday night for the third time. This place never disappoints. We arrived around 8:20 without a reservation and were immediately acknowledged and seated. The staff here was very friendly. I usually have limited options due to being a vegetarian. We started our meal with some drinks and appetizers. My drink was a little too strong so I let the waitress know who quickly came back with the bartenders recommendation and got me an excellent cucumber drink. We ordered the Lavash chips with a trio dip and the halumi cheese appetizer. The Lavash chips were so light and flavourful and the dips were exceptional. My personal favorite was the babaghanoush. We then got our meal. I ordered the mushroom tortellini and my husband and his cousin ordered the Branzino. The tortellini was a bit dry for me but they loved the Branzino. We have been here before and the Branzino is the reason they wanted to come back here. The kitchen has been pretty consistent with their flavors since the last time we were here. It's safe to say we will be back here again! Thank you to the Lokanta staff. You guys are amazing!!!!

First time at this Mediterranean Restaurant. This is located in downtown Walnut Creek. We parked at a public parking garage and walked to the restaurant. We came around lunch time and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered a bunch of side dishes and one meal. The food for the three of us was plenty full and when I received the check it was surprisingly not bad. We spent less than $110. To begin they serve this really good and soft bread that was paired with Kalamata Olive Dip (sooo good). Then our food came. We ordered Calamari, Pita with trio dip (which included Hummus, Greek Yogurt, And Babaganoush (roasted eggplants) dip), shrimp and salmon kebabs, couscous, and Braised Short Rib Plate. The short rib was on a bed of mashed potatoes surrounded with mushrooms and tomatoes. The rib was so tender, you can cut it with a spoon and so tasty. We sat in the patio, it was nice to be able to sit and eat and enjoy our food. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. Everything we ordered was delicious!

Wow. What a dinner! Starting with the house made bread to the specialty dishes...just, wow. The TALAS dish is a must try. The coconut curry is not overpowering, but they found the right balance for this flavor. I was in awe with how wonderful all the flavors on the TALAS were (the green apple slices are truly great!). The short ribs were another magnificent dish. We ordered a side of fresh cucumber for the hummus along with the pita (wish there was a bit more pita included for the amount of hummus). The fire of Olympus has a Smokey flavor (I enjoyed, but my SO wasn't a big fan.) Great customer service as well. Our server was lovely and delightful. Definitely loved this place!!

Looking for a Mediterranean restaurant to celebrate Easter, we decided to takeout from Lokanta and we were not disappointed. They have a fairly large dinner menu and we opted for the "Family Meal" that included 4 skewers (lamb, chicken, shrimp or salmon) which you can mix and match, rice pilaf, seasoned steamed vegetables, rolls, tzatziki dip, and baklava. We also added their dolmas appetizer which were excellent. We chose lamb and chicken skewers, and while they could have been larger, the flavors were excellent although the chicken was a bit dry. The rice as moist and included chickpeas, and the vegetables were crisp tender and also seasoned well. The tzatziki was creamy, outstanding flavor and helped tie the meal together. Furthermore, the 4 pieces of baklava were a terrific ending to the meal with the flaky phyllo layers and just the right amount of honey and pistachios. The takeout experience was smooth and everything was packaged well. Look forward to trying the dine in experience next time!

Great brunch spot with plenty of seating outdoors. They have a pretty big menu with lots of veg and nonveg options. Complimentary bread and olive tamponade is amazing . Parking can be tight on the weekends but the downtown is super cute so even if you have to walk a little it'll be worth it. My fav dish is the veg omelette and spinakopita. I also love their soups .

Came here a week ago with my girlfriends for Sunday brunch. My reservation was for 11:30 and it was dead at that time but picked up by 12:30 and was bustling with guests. We ordered bottomless mimosas, which I thought was a great deal at $14. The champagne was also decent and they sure knew how to keep 'em coming! Service was very good. We started with the Greek Dip Trio which is babaganoush, hummus and tzatziki, served with warm pita bread. The dips were so fresh and delicious, and the pita was nice and soft - we ended up ordering more pita lol. I ordered the Poached Eggs over Shakshuka, which I had never tried it before. The flavors were good, but personally the meal's texture was too "soft" for me. It's served with toasted sourdough bread, which was over-toasted to the point that I had to feel if I broke a tooth lol. However, I was proud of myself for trying something new. I would recommend and come back again!

Went out to lunch there on Tue (3/22/22)…. While waiting for the attention, the waitress brought us bread. Very delicious by the way… The overall attention was good. Also, I ordered a gyro and a mojito drink.. the food was good and fresh, however, they can improve on the drinks. It was not what I was expecting…..This all I have to share!!!

I really like this spot! Great staff, delicious margaritas & fresh tasty food! We have been here a few times thus far 2022. Don't hesitate! Go for it! So very good. Have a couple margaritas. I do find the manager makes the best ones. He usually stops making them by 4:30 when the bulk of their staff arrives for the dinner shift. We like everything we've eaten here so far. Enjoy! 20% off all menu items, including booze from 2:30-5:30 7 days a week. Great time to see what's up!
