Great ice cream and their customer service is always great. I also love their art and the hometown culture. Boat dock are right across the street from it and it's a great place to go.

If you are a person of color (POC), please DO NOT stop by. They are clearly racist. Horrible customer service for my family and I, but I noticed how the employees' attitude changed the minute a non POC came in the door. I have been to this business a few times because I give folks the benefit of the doubt and understand they maybe just had bad day, but nope. This is how they operate. Do not give them your business. Also, the food is mediocre at best. The pizza place next door is a much better option. P.S. I gave them a 1 star because Yelp didn't let me give a zero, but consider this note an amendment to the rating. Definitely a 0 star review establishment.

Gunther's ice cream is fabulous. The lady behind the counter was a little bit rude. My friend ordered something they were out of. The lady told him he may want to study the out of list before ordering. Lol. Honestly it's not our job. She seemed like we were putting her out by giving them our business.

Whenever I pass this place I say I'm going to stop by. Today I did. There was only one person working so I did have to wait a good amount of time. They sell a variety of things. I was able to try the icecream before purchasing. The price for icecream was really good and the amount they give is a lot. I ordered the single scoop I shouldve ordered the kid scoop because it was enough to share. I tried the butter brickle carmel icecream and it is to die for literally. I will definitely be back.

This is an awesome place. I was looking for a Starbucks because I had a business Zoom call, but the nearest Starbucks was 50 minutes away and my meeting was in 15 minutes. I went inside the store and asked if they had WiFi and they said, yes. I got a medium coffee and a pastri for under $6 and I was able to do my Zoom call which took 1hr. They even had power for my laptop and a great view of the river (I sat by the window). It was a life saver. I will stop by here more often. Great people, beuatiful view, and old school ice cream shop feel. I highly recommend this place.

I drive through Walnut Grove coming and going from the central valley to the East Bay. I noticed this year that Mel’s was offering Gunther’s Ice Cream. Yes! So good! The shop is super cute with seating inside and out. You order at the counter and I’ve never had to wait for long. I have only ordered and ice cream cone to go, but there’s a full menu of lunch sandwiches, too. A great stop for a sweet treat!
