A top 3 all-time NY slice; by far the best in California. Up there right behind DiFara and Lucali for me. It’s that good.

Best Pizza in Santa Cruz County by far! Detroit Pizza is amazing and the New York style is one of the best I have had on the west coast. Highly recommend. Do yourself a favor and be sure to eat it in the restaurant fresh from the oven.

Store is located on the corner and not much parking to be had during the lunch rush so had park down the street and around three corner. There was a line and most seats were filled (good sign). Not an intimate place for a date, but a good place to go during lunch or after a movie. They do sell beer. The restroom is clean and they have 1 high chair. As for the pizza. It was great! I lived in NYC for 5 years and also Connecticut and I consider myself a pizza snob. The crust was light and airy with that char & crisp that you want. The sauce had that perfect blend of acidity, richness and the taste of tomato. The mozzarella was wonderful. I was transported. Easily the best plain slice I’ve had on the central coast. It’s a 30 minute drive from Monterey, but worth it.Definitely coming back.Price: $10.60 (includes a $1 tip)

Messed up my order, lied and still waiting for my refund. Will update if improves. disappointed in their service and food.Update: was finally given my refund. I’ve also been getting random calls from a number since this occurred and it’s not okay. Will definitely take my time going back, this definitely tainted this place and it’s a big bummer because I love pizza and I love supporting my locals but this left a sour taste in my mouth.

If you've ever had A Slice of NY in San Jose or Sunnyvale, or Slice House by Tony Gemignani, then you'll LOVE Slice Project's NY-style pizza. The Lil Pep is the epitome of pepperoni and the Supreme is LOADED with super fresh ingredients. We got it to-go and it was piping hot. We haven't tried their square pies yet and CAN'T WAIT to try their smashed burgers (only on Tuesdays).

Fantastic pizza and customer service are provided by these young restaurateurs. I have had a few of their different specialty pies--including their "White Bugatti" and "Pineapple Express" in addition to some standard custom requests too.

Friendly staff. Called and asked for directions. Guy was super helpful. Picked up two square pizzas. Heavy boxes and really great pizza. Will be back. Never noticed this place even though I drive through town often. Not sure about eating in but on a Tuesday they did have patrons. I live closer to Castroville to we usually have round table as a default. But I will get pizza here instead.

I've never tried their regular pies because I've only ever bought the Detroit style. It's so good. I think about trying a regular pizza and then think, but what about the crispy crust and the soft pillowy dough with the perfect amount of cheese and pepperoni? The staff is always great and super nice. If their online ordering is ever down and I have to call in my order, they're always quick to answer. I've never eaten inside but I'm very happy to see the old Fox Pizza building being used.

Had the Detroit style pepperoni. Was so good, lots of cheesy crisped crust, sauce and pepperonis. Will go back. Counter person was great!

I have been here a handful of times. I can't get enough of their 313 Detroit style deep dish pizza. Might be the best pizza I've ever eaten. I hope this place doesn't go away.

This pizza place doesn't disappoint. There NY style slices are super thin and crispy. Not heavy on cheese or sauce makes for a nice balanced slice. They use Grande cheese which is in a class of its own. The sign of a true quality pizza maker. Good job guys.

Damn good Deep Dish Pepperoni! Cool group of guys working the counter, and Topo Chico in the fridge. Highly recommend dropping by for a pie.
