We come here the first time last year and have been back countless times. This is a place to go for a nice, warm, home made food! You just can't find this kind of Chinese food anywhere else. Very tasty, just like Grandma's cooking! We highly recommend this place. Traditional Taiwanese food! Don't forget to get the icy mix for dessert!!!

The food is good and huge portions. Very tasty better than I thought. The staffs are so friendly and well mannered. When we leave my friend brought the cup to the counter just ask for water and instead the waiter asked do you want tea? He gave us refilled tea. The lounge is a great place to hang out with meetingfriends.

I've always loved coming here! Wide variety of Taiwanese snacks, entrees & drinks. Taste is on point and is the ultimate comfort food for me. Service is always nice and quick, and usually full of Taiwanese family. Place is clean and homey.Would you guys open up in Rowland heights please? 4 star because the taste is not always consistent, I do come back here again and again though!

We came across this Taiwanese place in a small strip mall right across the street from Porto's in West Covina. Arrived around noon in a weekday, there was plenty of parking and we were the only ones that took a table. Soon after, a few single diners came in and more for take out orders. Water was brought to us quickly but no other words exchanged from the only guy working the entire restaurant. We quickly realized we need to scan the QR on the table to view the menu and place an order. Their digital menu gives many options to customize your food, even extra sauce or condiments. The first order, Taiwanese sausage rice set, came out much sooner than the other two soup noodles. I didn't try it but they were very generous with the sausage. The other two came out a while later. The squid thickened noodle soup was a bowl loaded with ingredients. The flavor wasn't bad but I enjoyed my spicy beef dry noodle more. It says dry, but comes in a bowl with broth. It wasn't really spicy and was a bit on the milder side but there was a generous portion of thinly sliced beef. The service wasn't really there, and I don't mean it was bad. It was just one guy taking care of everything in the front so can't really blame him for not coming by to see how we were doing. But any interaction was pleaaant so no complaints. The menu is pretty extensive, and I want to try many other dishes, so it looks like I'll have to go back some time. The words on the wall tells the story of how the aborigines of Taiwan used to call each other Takao, and over time that name evolved to become Dago, thus the name of the restaurant. Check out my photos!

I got the shaved ice to go. You can choose 5 toppings. I would say eating it in person is more worth it because the take out portion is small and not really worth $9. They do package the ice separate from the toppings, and the brown sugar syrup is separate too.My husband ordered the popcorn chicken since they had a $15 min for credit card. It was okay. The chicken was kind of plain, and they use dried basil powder instead of the fresh leaves.

So, at this very moment I am inside a classroom at the UCR extension center learning how to teaching a programming class that I will never teach. When I was in high school I got a 1 on the AP Comp Sci Test (1 is bad) and if apples don't fall from trees then the same can be said about my understanding of programming. So, my mind wandered to the dissapointing lunch options around me and then I thought about holding out until dinner, and that's how I landed on writing this review.I cannot believe I have not waxed poetic about this spot yet but here goes. When I lived in Diamond Bar, Dago was the go to spot for Taiwanese food in Chino Hills. And, when I moved to Baldwin Park, I headed west to Arcadia and West SGV (is that a terms) for my Taiwanese fix. Then, lo and behold, Dago opened up in West Covina and since then, I contribute roughly three Andrew Jackson's a month to this fine establishment.Whether you dine in or take out, the quality of the food is solid. They get the Taiwanese flavors right and use the ingredients to coax them out. Think chinese celery and ample white pepper for their clear soup base or enough sesame oil for their thickened soup.On top of quality, they got quantity down pat. My wife and I usually get our own entrees and their is enough food for two meals. A pro tip is when you order through their app you can ask for less rice and more vegetables which are a rotating cast or sliced potato, tofu tomato, cabbage, broccoli carrots, sauteed onions, or zuchinni (I ain't kidding I come through a lot). The final plug I will make is their weekday meal specials. for 12.50, you can get what I mentioned above plus a drink, which, considering you can split to two meals, is a great steal in this day in age (like an overloaded chipotle bowl with extra everything). The ambience in the store is interesting with a heavy dose of today's rap and hip hop (uncensored) admist a calming white and well lit dining space. If that is not for you, takeout works too. The one minor knock I would have is that their online POS is trash and could be improved upon, but not enough of a knock to take a star away. This is the end of my review, the instructor is still talking and it's still not making sense. I am now even more hungry than before.

It's a great recommendation from another fellow foodie who actually cooks Taiwanese food pretty well!As many modern Asian restaurants are doing now, when you come in, you just scan a QR code to look at the menu. You then can place your order through your phone. ( We like human interaction so we still went to order through the waiter ).We ordered the fried squid sticks appetizer and the fried pork in red garlic sauce with rice! Being that I just went to Taiwan a month ago, the flavor here is really authentic and what I love even more is that they actually give you an option to have less rice with more vegetables (how awesome is that ?!?!). Highly recommend anyone who is craving Taiwanese cuisine to give this nice a try !

This would've been a 4 if one of the veggies wasn't just pure onions cooked with like half a scrambled egg. We came here for lunch on a weekday to grab a quick bite and both gravitated towards the fried pork chop w/rice. We ordered off a QR code but I wonder if they ran into some issues cause it took longer than expected for us to get our food, despite only 4 other tables there, 3 of which already had their food. When the plates came, the portion size was definitely hearty. The pork chop was nicely fried and flavorful and the the rice had some flavorful sauce drizzled over it. The cabbage carrot slaw was fine, a little under seasoned and then there was just huge pile of onions. Maybe it's just me but that was very difficult to eat. There was just too much. The image on the menu showed corn which would have been a much better accompaniment. There was also a single piece of tofu that while good, felt out of place. I feel like they can throw in another piece of 2 to round it out.
