There was only 1 server, which boy was he trying really hard but no one would be able to care for the 10 tables currently seated plus run the register. When we would as for meats we would get half of what we asked for. Overall David was trying really hard but mamagements inability to hire/ schedule more servers during lunch is really affecting the overall experience.

We are usually fans for Gen, but this was the worst of the Gen BBQ locations that we've been to.We came for an early dinner at 4pm. The meat tastes slightly below average for Gen, but the service was almost non-existent at first. We asked many times for the sauce/salt, kim chi, rice, salad etc, and it was hard to find someone who could provide that for us. The only positive was that once we were able to get the attention of a server, the meats came out fast even though everything else was super slow. The service improved slightly later in the meal, so perhaps 4pm -5pm is shift change? Definitely avoid coming during this time. We'll probably avoid going to Gen for a while after this negative experience.

Not enough staff. they have too many tables to attend.. item no.1 the premium steak is very chewy..Some cooking oil would prevent the meat from burning and less smoky inside.

The food was pretty good once we finally got it. The restaurant was only half full and the service was terrible. We asked four times for the same things before they came out (simple things too, just soy sauce that would have been on the table anywhere else). It would have been a much better experience with better service, but to basically be ignored for $30 per person, we were not impressed.

Gen is only good when there is enough servers I have been going to many different gens threw out the years and came here but will be my last time sadly since our server completely forgot abt our table it was good til it lasted. I’ll just grill at home ✌?I should have read the reviews before coming here maybe it’s just this gen. ?

I've been to other Gen locations that were way better. We asked our server several times for basic items that he never brought, like sides and rice paper. Some items we ordered, like jahpchae noodles and potato salad, never came at all. We had to ask multiple people again after our server for drink refills and sauces. The meat was all very fatty and sub par quality. For 5 of us, we only ever got 4 tiny plates of the banchan sides over the course of 2 hours, despite asking 4+ times. So we filled up on only fatty meat and plain white rice for $200. I left feeling unsatisfied and annoyed.

The food is delicious, very good price!!But in what head can you have only one waiter??? They should know that the more waiters, the better the sale!!! By saving a few dollars they are losing a lot of sales!!!! I am a professional chef and restaurant manager and I speak from my experience!! Today by chance I returned and really bad service due to lack of staff

Worst! Waiting is long cause not enough server.. Food are not great..They dont change the grill plate! only 3 sides, 3 drops of soy sauce that u have to ask again! Please if you want real Korean restaurant better go to Korea town.. They have a lot better in there.. I dont recommend this place.. Other branch of Gen are not bad like the one in Cerritos but this BRANCH IS WORST!!!!!
Gen is always a good choice. If you're trying to bring someone to kbbq for the first time, GEN is a great place to bring them. Reliable, consistant, good quality and reasonably priced.
