The service is fast and the employees are very friendly and accommodating. “Amazing place. Even thought they gave us salmon instead of chicken it was delicious. We had to pay for the salmon but they were really nice because they gave us a discount and gave us free drinks. “A spot right on the corner in uptown Whittier. My husband and I were walking down the street and didn't know what to eat. Whittier is home away from home. We used to live nearby and take in all our favourite foods. We happen to be in the area and see all the updated shops and restaurants. We decided to try something new and We were so glad we did. Teriyaki Bistro was so welcoming when we walked in. We chose our option of plate/bowl and our toppings. I thought the toppings were a fun little treat. We waited less than 10 min for our food and ate downstairs. The restaurant was clean and had everything you needed. The restroom is located inside that needs a key. Don't worry you can't lose the key... It's attached to a metal serving spoon ?Save some room for dessert. They have ice cream sandwiches.“

The chef and manager Ken took my order and was very friendly and helpful to recommend certain specialties on their menu.I ordered the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and the crispy Katsu Chicken) and the Hawaiian BBQ Mix (BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and substituted Teriyaki Chicken in place of Kalbi Beef). Both plates come with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of Mac Salad. I never eat in ambience is not that great but I see people eating lunch on the outside patio chairs all the time so it’s about 20 bucks for a large pokey, figured it’s healthy it’s gonna be more expensive you know it’s just a bunch of protein in brown rice and salad in a bowl. “The first thing I want to say is that my server, Christian, was AMAZING! He went above and beyond on serving my food. He kept on asking if the portions were enough, which is something I dont get asked enough from places as such. He was super polite, gave the best answers to my questions, and always mentioned options when most others would have just given what I asked for. The food was spot on the best Poke I've ever had! Finally, the price was just right for what I was getting, and the restaurant was super well kept and clean! I HIGHLY recommend this spot, and if Christian is serving you make sure to leave a nice tip!“

“I don't live in the area but I was in the area and I was craving Poke. Very fresh and yummy! Big enough restaurant for indoor dining- however we got it to go. Fish was fresh and let me tell you they did not cheap out on the toppings, I was impressed and even gave the guy a tip for not saying "oh sorry we can't that's an additional charge." They were very friendly and clean. They also had a bunch of Hawaiian drinks to pick from, plus they serve Hawaiian ice :) going to come back for that! “We actually felt like we got a decent amount of food for the price. We had plenty of leftovers, which the kids finished off later that night. My wife swears this is the best macaroni salad she has ever had anywhere. The pineapple sauce was delicious as well. I wish we had this restaurant back home.“

“The food is amazing for a very reasonable price, but I think the service differs depending on who's working. The first time I came with my Latina friend and the staff person also appeared to be Latina (she was speaking Spanish to some other customers while we were there); she noticeably treated my friend preferentially and was short with me when I asked questions about the menu and how to order since it was my first time, which ended up making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then when I tried to pay, my payment failed the first time so she told me to insert my card again, but she "helped" by tapping on the screen for me and selecting the highest tip for herself without giving me a choice. I told her that wasn't the tip option I wanted to select but she gave me a dirty look and told me I couldn't go back, so I just had to pay the amount she selected or risk making a big fuss. Then she didn't offer me a receipt, which I think is just bad service considering she overcharged me, but maybe it's because she didn't want me to find out her name (since the server name is usually printed on your receipt). When our food came out, my friend's meal was neatly packaged so that she could take it to go, but my poke bowl didn't have a lid on it even though I was also taking it to go, and I had to ask for one, which she also treated like I was being an inconvenience. It was a really off-putting experience.My second time here, I came back with a different friend and ordered the exact same thing because the food quality was great, it was just the service that sucked, so I figured I'd give the place a second chance. Thankfully my second time was a lot better. The server (Michelle, based on my receipt) was very sweet and I didn't experience any problems. So I will probably keep eating here in the future, but I would not like to encounter the rude staff person from my first time again.“
