I think this is about the best French restaurant in California or perhaps the US. This was not the intended destination, but my friend and I were extremely glad that we went, since we're Francophiles!! They feature classically French dishes, but also Italian, making it a bit of fusion cuisine. Okay, a mojito is not French, but it was one of the best I have had in a very long time! I stuck to French cuisine. Started with soup a l'onion. Delicious! A lot of gruyere and the right amount of onions, bread and soup. Next were the escargots in olive oil with a lot of garlic! Yum! Main course was the mussels! Those had to be the largest, most succulent mussels I have ever had! They came with fries, but you really didn't need them. I brought them home. Last was the Napoleon or mille feuille. Creamy! There were three layers: one with just the cream, second with strawberries, and the last with nuts. Wow! Never had one like that! The proprietor was very kind. He brought us our drinks and was very kind when we spoke to him in French. Wait staff was very courteous and we felt no pressure to eat and leave. To show how good this place was, we ended up sitting next to a well known French actor. My friend recognized him first. They say that if people of the same nationality as the restaurant dine there, it's usually a compliment to the restaurant and a testament of the food. Well, that may be so, but we Francophiles will definitely be dining again at this restaurant! Merci beaucoup!

Good food, not terribly authentic to French cooking but tasty in its own right. Salads are nice, salmon cooked perfectly and the duck was crispy although a bit dry (a good sauce would have worked well with it).Gluten free options are not marked on the menu, and best to ask.

It's been over 25 years since I've been to the always trendy Sunset Plaza on the Strip. A lot of places have closed since then except for Le Petit Four. Le Petit Four is where all the "beautiful" people of the Hollywood Hills gather and the ambiance is very French bistro-like. The food has always and continues to be very good which is one of the reasons why Le Petit Four has survived all these years where others have not. I came for lunch and had their French Onion Soup which was very good with its rich vegetarian broth, caramelized onions, and toasty bread topped with melted cheese. Their tasty crab cakes were chocked full of lump crab with both chipotle aioli and lemon dill sauces. It also came with a mixed green salad which made this appetizer a satisfying lunch entree. Service was very good, both friendly and very welcoming. I never felt rushed even with a fairly full restaurant. They have both an outdoor sidewalk patio and a nice white tablecloth inside tables. Parking is free in the back for the Sunset Plaza patrons. Even though prices are very much on the high side, Le Petit Four provides a very satisfying dining experience.

Delicious. Solid restaurant for a business lunch, or a date night. Lots of classic French dishes to choose from. Staff are friendly. Feels like a throwback to what dining in LA must have been like in the 50s or 60s.Parking: Lots of parking behind the building.

Elegant (but not stuffy) French-inspired restaurant. Top notch service, friendly staff and an owner who welcomes you like an old friend. Delicious cuisine across the board. Save room for dessert - seeing their mouth watering dessert tray is an event in itself!
