They have so many options, and I was excited they have falafels. I ordered beef kofta and falafels, and tried both the saffron and spiced rice. Omgsh! One of the best meals of my life. The falafels were cooked to perfection, not too soft and not overly crispy. The beef kofta was tender and spiced well. The saffron rice was very good, however, the spiced rice is ? it is the most flavorful rice—you will ever have. I still remember both the sweet and savory notes. Which I loved.Not only is the food excellent, but the quality of the friendly environment is immediately felt. We were lucky enough to be served by the owner, Shamel. He made you feel like old friends. My mother and I so enjoyed talking with him and hearing about his passion for food and family.(Shamel, I am so very sorry for such an extraordinarily late review. “On Easter Sunday after church my sister and another good friend were in the mood for Mediterranean food. We looked on Yelp and were happy to see beautiful reviews for Ali Baba Cafe. Let me tell you this restaurant did not disappoint on any level! A family atmosphere, with yummy aromas throughout we sat, were greeted my a joyful young man who was stellar in his service, getting us seated and started with water and tea. Then the waiter came and shared more about the menu favorites and the differences between certain dishes which was very helpful. The Hummus was amazing! Then each of the dishes we ordered two of ordered lamb dishes and one a beef dish, all were very delicious. The portions were plentiful! Then I ordered the most delectable baklava flaky and soaked in (honey I believe) but the most perfect balance. We will surely be back to this blessed restaurant. What a great first experience. Thank you to all those who served us with excellence from the seating to, taking our order to when we checked out and paid leaving out. Each person greeted us with joy. Get there early too. Halibut is amazing. Orange roughy is fresh and grilled perfectly. Sand dabs for a west coast delicacy are top shelf.“

Rice had little flavor and salad was fine. “Everyone was friendly and attentive. The Greek coffee was amazing! The import beer has a good selection. Had the calamari for an appetizer. It was fresh and the tzatziki dip was so good! For the main course I enjoyed the lamb souvlaki. The lamb was perfect! Rice and salad so good. The servings are big you definitely get what you pay for. I will be back... With friends/family!“

“I was looking for a descent Mediteranian food spot and this definitely was a solid restaurant.I ordered their salmon plate with rice, salad & hummus along with chicken strips. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The hummus was also pretty good and the chicken strips were solid. Overall a great meal and they also had garlic butter sauce(my favorite condiment at kabob spots, similar to Zankou’s garlic sauce).I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu options.“

“Although I've known Diar market for a long time. I shop here very seldomly because this market has very limited ethnic items, it mostly serves the Persian community. Imho, if they had various international goods they would be more successful. Also recently, the first time, I bought some chicken and beef, both had a terrible stench when I got home. I didn't even bother taking it back because of the lack of customer service reviews on Yelp, at least $15 worth of meat went to trash. What a disappointment! It's a shame. I understand it's a small business serving our community however customer service makes it or breaks it!“
