Luc Dinh Ky is a childhood spot of mine that I used to eat at more often than I do now. I recently decided to pay them a visit after work and was instantly transported back to my childhood. I recognize a few of the same ladies that are serving tables and it's just nice to see that they're still there working hard. It's still pretty busy at night since they close at midnight, but despite the busy dining room, I've still gotten my takeout order in a reasonable amount of time. My go to is the salmon with crispy rice of course. The sauce is magical and I'm sure pumped with MSG because I salivate just thinking about it. It's a great dish even with the price increase. The prices have surely increased but I'd say that it's still worth it. You even still get free nuoc mat! It's such a refreshing drink so I'll have to buy one of the big bottles to chug at home... I recently decided to try the bo luc lac for the first time and it was just okay. I like that it's just beef and onions, but wasn't all that enthused by their version of the sauce. I'll just stick to the salmon :) Overall, I'm glad to still be able to enjoy a childhood classic restaurant of mine. I was also surprised to learn that i was able to pay with card! Definitely a lot more convenient since I don't always have cash on me.

I haven't been here for awhile, but it has changed since my last review. Food wasn't as good and quantity definitely lower with prices being higher. Maybe the time I went was a difference and the fact I ordered for pickup instead of eating in.

I love this place! They sometimes get busy but it's worth the wait! The salmon is so good. I eat here all the time!

My dad has been a Luc Dinh Ky stan since their first location. We have weekly lunches and dinners together, and this was our recent pick since I haven't been in awhile. So long that apparently they don't offer refills on nuoc mat anymore, which was such a bummer! Had I known, I would've savored each sip a little longer, heh. My dad ordered com nuong bo luc lac (grilled rice with shaken beef) and I got my usual, com nuong ca hoi (grilled rice with salmon). I'm a lover of bo luc lac, I really am.. but the dish served here is way too salty for my taste buds. I guess you could say the same for the sauce paired with my salmon dish, but at least I'm in control of the proportions. They seem to have reduced their restaurant hours of operations due to the panny d, so it looks like no more late night dining here. Still a fun quick bite spot to eat with friends, though!

Despite COVID and inflation, LDK still provides the same taste, ingredients and portions over the years. I know places that have increased prices, cut back portions and switched to lower quality ingredients. LDK will always be my go-to if I need to find a quick place to eat or grab to-go.

I've been to this restaurant many times growing up since they have pretty quick service and my family can always pick something to eat here (and usually has lots of parking, too). This time, my party & I stopped by for dinner before we headed home. I ordered Hủ Tiếu Lục Đỉnh Ký (House Special Rice Noodle). It's not a super special dish to me, but the way they make it here is comforting. Their portion sizes are quite big for me, so I think it's possible to share one order of noodle soup. Other people in my party got the Mì Lục Đỉnh Ký (House Special Egg Noodle) and Cơm Nướng Cá Salmon (Salmon with Grilled Rice); I didn't taste these, but got positive responses from those who did. Will definitely return when I'm in-town and need a quick bite!

This is one of my go-to spots in the Westminster area. I appreciate that all orders include complimentary herbal iced tea and that the restaurant is open until late. I would stop in a lot more often if I lived closer. Luc Dinh Ky offers a fairly extensive menu which I have sampled many items off of, but the House Special Rice Noodles are by far my fave! I enjoy the wide rice noodles combined in a soup with egg, shrimp, chicken, pork, fish cake, veggies and other ingredients which further enhance the flavor. The Hainan Chicken is a solid choice too and this restaurant differentiates itself by offering a grilled rice option. Good food at reasonable prices at almost any hour of the day...what more can you ask for?

Grilled rice with the salmon all day. Best I've had anywhere in OC. Love this place. Cant go wrong with the filet mignon too. Equally great.

If you're looking for some vietnamese food late at night, this is the place! Based on my experience, it doesn't tend to get crowded on weekday nights but on weekends, expect there to be a line. I like the free Nuoc Mac (Herbal Tea) and the portion sizes of all the dishes are pretty good.

My go to are the salmon or catfish with grilled rice!! This only have the catfish at this location. Also, at this location credit cards are accepted (not discover or amex though) and I love how an entree comes with free herbal tea.

The perfect Vietnamese restaurant for those days that you want something simple, but still full of flavor! This is definitely one of my favorite restaurant! Cơm Nướng Cá Salmon (salmon with grilled rice): 5/5 Pros- This is a very simple dish consisting of crispy rice and crispy salmon but it's absolutely delicious! The salmon always tastes incredibly fresh and the crispy rice adds the perfect texture! They make some of our most favorite fish sauce and it's a delicious dip/dressing. Also every order comes with nước mát (iced artichoke tea) its refreshing every time I guarantee it Plus the staff is super friendly and treat you like family Cons- The slices of fish can be a bit inconsistent so there may be times where you get a much smaller piece than what you got previously. The nước mát can also sometimes be a little bit too sweet, but we still love it every time and I wish there were refills !! Prices: $$ Cơm nướng cá salmon- $11.95

If you're visiting OC, you really MUST try Luc Dinh Ky... especially the SALMON WITH GRILLED RICE. If you live in Orange County, and you know about Vietnamese restaurants, chances are you already know about this gem of a restaurant. I ate at Luc Dinh Ky just this past weekend, and realized I never wrote a review... but I was first introduced to Luc Dinh Ky sevvvveral years ago by a friend who used to work at a popular Vietnamese cafe nearby. When she first told me about the salmon, I was skeptical at first because she's a very slender model, and I typically don't trust thin people when it comes to restaurant recommendations. (LOL - by my rationale, heavyweights like me got that way because they know where the good food is, you know?) Anyway, back to the story. PARKING While there's a private lot, parking can get pretty hectic in the lot since this restaurant is on Bolsa. Just make sure to be patient, and you'll find a place. If there's a wait to get in to the restaurant, it's TOTALLY worth it. FOOD One of the things I like about this spot is the fact that they give you a free glass of Nuoc Mat. In fact, they have a big a** banner outside of the restaurant that tells everyone that. Nuoc Mat is a really refreshing tea, - very lightly sweet. I've tried the Bo Luc Lac (savory beef) here, and it's amazing, but my number one go-to is the SALMON. The exterior of the salmon is crispy, but the inside is super soft. The grilled rice is AWESOME. It provides an awesome crunchy texture outside, but it's soft on the inside... and the two dipping sauces they give you... just perfect. TLDR: Order the salmon, you won't regret it.

My family's always been coming here to eat whenever we're in the area. My boyfriend and I decided to order to-go here for dinner on Friday. We ordered the Hainan Chicken with Grilled Rice and the Salmon with Grilled Rice. I love how each entrée comes with free nuoc mat. It's super refreshing. Both our entrees was super good. My boyfriend is in love with the ginger sauce. The salmon rice dish has been on my radar to try since all the reviews have been raving about it and it def didn't disappoint! The salmon was crispy and soft and I love the sauce that comes with it. My other favorite dishes to eat would be the Bo Luc Lac or their House Special Egg Noodles. Overall, this place is worth a shot to try- beware it is cash only though!

Very nice restaurant and great food. 2nd time visiting California and coming here. Vietnamese food is great and prices are low. Small place with limited seating. I do wish they served beer or some other alcohol to have with the meal but I'm on vacation so perhaps the local crowd doesn't care. But food is fantastic.
