I'm in NY and came to Cali to celebrate Tet 2024. An acquaintance introduced me to Mai Phung to eat Canh Bun, but the price is not cheap at 16.99, but the restaurant only takes orders to take pictures.. a glass of cold water also costs $1. The restaurant is small, cramped, and unsuitable. For hygiene, I find this price to be expensive. I ate it once and will not return to the restaurant a second time.

One of the best places to get bánh canh cua(Crab Udon Vietnamese style). The place was busy so come in early! The flavor was exquisite. Would definitely recommend to others!

Interesting, this place is selling the best banh da lon in town. I have tried at least 10 different places but they have the best.

The starchy tapioca texture is eclectic, and the flavors robust. The chili sauce is both spicy and delicate. The Chili and limes brighten the dish, and ease the initial shock of the slimy nature of tapioca. There's an importance to restaurants such asMai Phung who unapologetically take on a traditional dishes such as Banh Canh Tom Cua.There is room for improvement. A hole in the wall. Not for the faint of heart. Styrofoam cups can go away. Service was fast, and music good.

Best Banh Canh tom cua spot in all of Orange County imo. Broth is thick and savory, comes with clumps of real crab meat, and 2 shrimps. The only downside of this place is they close up early whenever they feel like it, and there is a long wait sometimes cause they only have 8 tables.

Small place, about 9 tables, but super efficient. Waiter takes orders for those in line. Food comes out almost immediately when people r seated. Bánh canh is their claim of fame

This is the best pho I’ve ever had. The broth was incredibly tasty. I got the well done brisket pho and my partner got the banh cahn tom cua thit heo which is what everyone comes for. Both were incredible and we’d love to come back when the egg rolls are available.Owner was super kind and made our experience even better.

The hype is real for banh canh. Their homemade chili paste is bomb. Very few tables, but the wait was worth it.

it's a good spot for their crab noodle soup. but its always so busy. they also don't seat you according to the list. they speak mostly Vietnamese. bring your own water bottles. they charge for water.

I had their #1 - crab, shrimp and pork udon (banh canh) as my lunch during one rare rainy day in Southern California. My bowl came out piping hot and had enough protein. It was very delicious for a rainy afternoon! Service was slow and awkward at first since most orders were for takeout. There were two servers and one was busy with answering phone and other was busy with dine-in customers and preparing takeout orders.

I really liked the crab udon but the wait was super long , enough to justify not returning. It's a small restaurant and it could hold only so many customers. The table we sat at was a little dated and I was slightly bothered by this huge ring of rust on the floor. The place looked a little old. The parking was alright though. And the crab udon was very authentic with a surprising about of meat.
