One of the best breakfasts while visiting Los Angeles??Whittier's Jacks Restaurant has been around since 1933. Old school diner feels. Google maps certainly finds these gems i never knew about. So many bookmarks, so little time?.Nostalgic feels, friendly service and the wait to get a seat here is worth it. Ordered the Meat Lovers Skillet that has bacon, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs & home fries topped with melted cheese??The side order was the best though... Biscuits with country gravy was the star of the show for me. Ill be back again when in the area??5 stars.

I don't know if my comment is of much use because in the end they never grill anything..?It turns out that I took my daughter for her birthday and I ordered the famous Jack dish that has meat and 2 eggs, the meat was very tough, you couldn't chew the cold pancakes ...the Service from the waitress who served us was quite terrible, very bad it seemed like they had her under control ??It turns out that as soon as I got home and my STOMACH HURT A LOT AND I LET GO, something that never happens to me, I miss it if I only ate the food from that place but well at the end of the day I never go back to that restaurant I only comment so that you know and take care of your health

My wife and I decided on Jacks to be our celebration dinner place. The rib eye was perfect, the meal was absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed the experience so much, my wife wanted me to call and say thank you. I did.

The staff and atmosphere were both fantastic. The staff were friendly and the style of the restaurant reminded me of a 50s diner. The only thing was while the food was ready quickly for pick-up, most of our items were missing key ingredients such as my chili-cheese omelet missing the chili and instead had green chiles.

Classic American + some Mexican diner food. We had a large group + they were extremely accommodating. Super nice, helpful wait staff. They even offered to make a custom sandwich that wasn't even on the menu! Best item ordered was the Chicken-Fried Steak + Eggs! I like how u can get biscuits + gravy instead of toast with breakfasts. Burgers were awesome, juicy + good. Long lists of breakfast items here. Also plenty of classic dinner + lunch choices like steak, pasta + of course their famous Fried Chicken!! U have to try it + you'll be in love. Plenty of parking. Just walk in. Very casual. OMG...?"JACK'S" ?☺️?. Believe it or not☝️, how can I forget this place. Memories, memories???.My very first date w/ an Aunt as chaperone, was here. That's how far back I remember. We're seated at the back by the windows looking out to the Plaza. My Aunt had worked there, her name was Lola. She was so proud of "JACK'S".Every time I go in now, I look towards those tables & still see myself & that day.The place, the food, the crowd! It has always been popping w/ customers from all over. Here in Whittier the name "JACK'S" was as equal to "BOB'S BIG BOY", or any other well named restaurant at the time! Are you kidding me?. We would come from all surrounding neighborhoods just to eat at "JACK'S".Famous for all their dishes, breakfast, lunch, and dinners. Real AMERICAN CUISINE. See, I myself & I don't know about the rest of you...if you dare to fess up. Breakfast at our place growing up was egg & beans; not hash browns n toast pancakes? Tortillas were our bread. Pancakes?? Ehh? our Mama did her her best, but they didn't taste the same?.These dishes w/ meats...like fried chicken, steak, liver & onions, veal, spaghetti w/ meat balls etc., biscuits n gravy???....with eggs!!! ??☝️Different very different. I fell in love with cooking because of "JACK'S". I experienced food in a different way through my taste buds. What an awakening to FOOD.??????? ??????All these years...and the enjoyment continues. Every time I eat there, I go with different friends & family. Each & everyone connects me w/ other friends & family that I didn't even realize they too have been a faithful customer of "JACK'S" for years..and I'd never run into them before that! At any given time ??Amazing! Why, it's a bonus BLESSING of the DAY.Memories, memories, and pleasantries. You can't beat that in a million years. Jack's is the place to go if you like the old school atmosphere, old Town, get down music while snacking on your burger ? fries, then Jack's is the place for you. Service with a smile ? great food. Not just burgers, but they are the best burgers around. Jack's serves up more than that. They have a very wide menu to choose from even your cool little tots will find something delicious for them on the menu ?. So give it a try. Just a heads up, though. On Sunday mornings, it might be a wai, so get there early. But actually, it will be worth your wait. Happy eating ? and definitely DoNot forget desert, fresh and delicious ?So why only 4 stars, you ask.... well my one pet pive is un kept bathrooms. Not that it's unclean, dirty like,but 8 times out of ten I go into the stall and the toilet paper is missing or toilet seat covers are out. That's not cool.. I always keep hand wipes and tissues in my purse for just such an occasion. So that said, I do love Jack's. I'll keep going to my go to place. They are very busy so It's understandable, but keep an eye out for the restocking of the bathroom, essentials Jack. Love ya ?
